Gameplay
X3 Reunion is a sandbox-style Game in which players may explore a massive universe full of planets, asteroids, and star systems. The player assumes the position of a spacecraft pilot and may engage in activities like commerce, mining, and fighting. Players may buy and improve ships and recruit crew members to assist them with different duties. The Game also has an economic system in which players may buy and sell products in various regions of the universe.
Players can fight other ships or protect themselves against pirate attacks in warfare. In X3 Reunion, the fighting system is real-time and lets players attack particular areas of opposing vessels. Furthermore, players can join one of the Game's groups and engage in their wars, or they can go alone as a lone wolf.
Plot
X3 Reunion is set in a future in which humanity has colonised several planets and star systems. When the player's ship is destroyed, they are plunged into a world of strife and intrigue. The Argon Fleet, a mystery organisation, evacuates them. They must travel the treacherous cosmos to learn the truth about their past and the circumstances that led to the loss of their starship.
The player will confront numerous groups along the road, including the Argon Fleet, Terrans, and Pirates. Each party has its own set of objectives and ambitions, and the player must decide whether to support one of them or remain neutral. The player will also come across a variety of alien species and will need to communicate with them to obtain knowledge and resources.
