The first-person shooter video game series, Call of Juarez, contains several sequels: Call of Jaurez, Call of Jaurez: Bound in Blood, Call of Jaurez: The Cartel and Call of Jaurez: Gunslinger. A slippery fugitive named Billy and his hunter, reverend Ray, are the two different, adversarial characters that the player alternately takes on. In addition to the incredibly compelling emotional and psychological connection between the two characters, the player will encounter a wide range of gameplay with various variations while controlling a specific symbol.
Fast-paced revolver duels employing historically accurate weapons, horseback riding, mounted warfare, and stealth actions are featured in the game, set in iconic locales inspired by Western movies. Innovative and non-linear gameplay emerges from accurate simulation of fluids, gasses, fire, and smoke in addition to rigid bodies and rag dolls.
- Severe treatment of the Wild West theme and meticulous recreation of the characters and cultural imagery of the era.
- The creation of emergent gameplay through physics and creative simulations of fire, liquids, dust, smoke, and gases.
- Cutting-edge visuals that make use of the latest technologies and features of modern graphics cards.
- Playing two separate characters, each with a unique set of skills and gameplay.
- Gunfighter duels, saddle shooting, and horseback riding.
- Using the whip to move the player's character, move things, and engage in combat.
- For the hands-on approach, legendary weaponry from the Gold Fever era and full akimbo mode are available.
- Thrilling plot with many unexpected turns in this exciting Western genre.
Gameplay
Concentration Mode: Each of the four games offers a slow-motion attack, often known as "Concentration mode." The player can switch on concentration mode when playing Ray in the original game. When he pulls out either handgun during combat, concentration mode is automatically triggered, the game enters slow motion, and two aiming reticles appear on either side of the screen, each travelling in the direction of the centre. The player can alter the location of the screen, which lets them move Ray's stance to shoot when the reticles cross over an enemy, but they cannot move either reticle or the character while in concentration mode.
Dwelling: In the first game's duels, the player has to wait for a countdown before the opponent draws their weapon. Then Ray can pull his gun and start shooting. To draw Ray's gun, the player must first slide the mouse or analogue stick downward before snapping it upward. Once this happens, a reticule that can be manipulated normally appears on the screen. Characters can only move left and right while engaged in a duel.
Multiplayer: The multiplayer mode for the original game on PC includes "Deathmatch," "Skirmish" (team deathmatch), and "Robbery". The Xbox 360 version also includes "Wanted," in which one player is chosen randomly to be the "wanted" player, and other players can only gain points by assassinating this specific player. The player who killed the wanted player then becomes the wanted player.
