Join Indy in an epic, globe-spanning race to find the enigmatic "Infernal Machine" by grabbing your whip and fedora.

Features:

  • 17 chapters of a riveting, action-packed narrative need you to solve puzzles.
  • Visit fascinating locations, like the mystery Babylonian ruins and the kings' labyrinths in Nubia.
  • Use all the weaponry you might need to defeat foes, such as Communist thugs, odd monsters, robot guardians, and more, including Red Army machine guns, satchel, bazookas,  charges, and post-WWII assault rifles.

Gameplay:

As an action-adventure Game, Infernal Machine combines a variety of gameplay elements. Through 17 stages in an entirely polygonal 3D world, the player controls Indiana Jones while viewing him from a third-person perspective. Platforming portions, which call for a combo of running, jumping, climbing, and using the protagonist's signature bullwhip, are a regular feature of Infernal Machine. Additionally, the player will encounter several human, animal, and supernatural foes throughout the Game, which they can defeat with various weapons like guns, the whip above, and a machete. The Game mainly focuses on resolving riddles and finding prizes in addition to these obstacles. Some levels have sections with a vehicle theme, like rafting, jeep excursions, and mine cart chases. The player must acquire four machine components to finish the Game's titular Infernal Machine.

Plot:

After serving in World War II, archaeologist and explorer Indiana Jones resumes his digging career in the Game's 1947-set scenario. An old friend of Jones's from the CIA, Sophia Hapgood, visits him at his excavation site in the Canyonlands and tells him that now the Soviets are uncovering the ruins of Babylon. The goal of the Soviet Union, under the direction of Dr Gennadi Volodnikov, a physicist interested in extraterrestrial dimensions, was to develop a weapon that was more potent than the nuclear bomb, giving them a clear advantage in the Cold War.

Jones is sent to the Soviet excavation site inside the Kingdom of Iraq by Sophia to find out what the Soviets are looking for. There, he teams up with Simon Turner, Sophia's supervisor, and learns that Volodnikov is searching for the Babylonian God Marduk, who resides in another world known as the Aetherium. Jones deciphers old cuneiform tablets found in the Etemenanki's most profound ruins to explain the Tower of Babel's natural history. Marduk enticed Nebuchadnezzar II to construct a massive Engine 2600 years ago. Still, the terrified Babylonians tore down the tower containing it, allowing four of God's devotees to flee with some pieces of this "Infernal Machine."

Jones sets out on a Quest to locate the four parts of machines before the Soviets do. He finds them in a tomb close to Mero in the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan's deserts, an Olmec valley in Mexico, an erupting volcano on Palawan within the Philippines, and a monastery in the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic's mountains. Volodnikov and Turner confront him and demand the components from him since they believe they are not secure with the other side. He assigns roles to Turner and Sophia out of mistrust for his fellow citizens but out of a desire to do the least harm. According to Volodnikov, this was probably best since Marduk would exact revenge on those who trashed the machine.

Frightened, Jones returns to Babylon's Room of the Tablets and discovers a portal that has been opened, going deeper into the ruins to the Infernal Machine's core. Turner, who aims to persuade the other dimension to support the United States, and Sophia are caught up to him, and he uses the machine components to start the Engine. Turner forces Sophia inside a supernatural cage against her will to take her to the Aetherium as an ambassador.   Jones believes that the only way to recapture all of him and save her is to murder him.   The triggered device malfunctions, pulling Jones and Sophia into a gateway that leads to the alternate dimension. He defeats the evil Marduk there and releases Sophia from her captivity. After returning to Babylon, Volodnikov welcomes the team and asks if they met God on the opposite side, which Jones vehemently denies. The Soviet doctor ends out to be less radical than first thought during the next talk, and the three set out into the morning searching for a fine bottle of vodka. In a bonus Level, Jones revisits the Peruvian temple from Raiders of the Lost Ark's opening scene and finds a second golden idol in a hidden chamber.
