Gameplay
To connect cities, the player needs to construct railroads. Rails are inexpensive unless they are used to demolish buildings or other structures. In each Level, the player must build crossroads and switches to handle rising traffic as they connect the various stations on the map with railway tracks to transmit materials between stations. Each Level's primary goal is to get every train to its destination without going bankrupt, but there are also three more difficult goals to complete, including "don't halt trains" or "don't ruin tracks." The base Game has four chapters covering Europe (1830–1980), America (1840–1960), the USSR (1880–1980), and Japan (1900–2020)[3], with a fifth chapter covering Germany (1880–2020) available as additional content (DLC). Each chapter has six levels, for a total of 24, and six more in the Germany DLC for 30 stories.
Features
- Build switches, sidings, and spurs to handle the growing traffic so that several trains can run concurrently without experiencing delays.
- Control trains accurately at key points to avoid accidents, pausing for planning (you can build railways and schedule trains while on pause).
- Finish the story mode, which includes historical occurrences like the Gold Rush of 1849, the building of the Florida Overseas Railroad, World War II, the Cold War, the launch of the first human-crewed space flight Vostok 1, and more.
- Explore the Game in a variety of Game modes: sandbox (may be enabled for both story and unexpected ways), random (15–20 minutes), or story (5–10 minutes; the Level looks and evolves differently every time you play). It enables playing without time or financial restrictions.
- Explore 15 different train types, from historic steam engines to modern high-speed trains, while riding in 18 vehicles, from vintage passenger cars to hoppers and cisterns to military tanks and gun platforms.
About the Germany DLC
With the German Season DLC for Train Valley, explore six new levels of train history, starting from the first German rails and World War I through the fall of the Berlin Wall and the present-day Frankfurt Airport.
Finish the new Story Mode's five episodes.
- Make use of Random Mode's replayability and flexible layout.
- Control six brand-new German locomotives and new automobiles from various eras.
- Obtain new, difficult-level quests and achievements.
- Investigate novel, unexpected situations like a bombing by a biplane or a super-train express traversing the map.
