A description of the Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack
A new playable campaign for ROME II, The Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack, challenges the ROME II Grand Campaign regarding breadth and ambition. Total WarTM: ROME II owners can download this campaign for free as an automated upgrade as part of the Game's Emperor Edition.
The turbulent days following Caesar's heinous assassination in 42 BC are the setting for The Imperator Augustus Campaign Pack. The Second Triumvirate, three magnificent men who hold the future of Rome in their hands, divide the soul of the Republic while keeping the republic whole.
Caesar's adopted son Octavian will carry on his legacy.
Marc Antony was Caesar's most dependable and devoted companion.
Lepidus, the Roman Pontifex Maximus, established Caesar's rule.
The members of The Second Triumvirate are each in a position to challenge for leadership and rule Rome as its first and only Emperor because they control a portion of The Republic's lands and have Rome's military power at their disposal.
However, outside powers are advancing, hoping to take advantage of Rome's unpredictability and enlarge their spheres of influence. Will you engage in combat on behalf of Rome and triumph over the other Triumvirate members? Or take advantage of the upheaval when the Roman civil war is in full swing by leading another side on a campaign of conquest and expansion?
Factions you can play.
Players may embark on a new Campaign as one of the following playable factions :
- Marc Antony
- Lepidus
- Octavian
- Pompey
- Iceni
- Marcomanni
- Dacia
- Egypt
- Parthia
- Armenia (also now playable in the ROME II Grand Campaign).
Will you go to any lengths for Rome?
With its return to Rome, the acclaimed Total War series raises the bar for strategy video games. Become the first superpower in history and take control of the most fantastic combat machine ever built. Use military, economic, and political tools to dominate your opponents. Even your closest pals will be both in awe of and envious of you as you ascend.
Will you be the first to turn on old friends, or will you be the victim of betrayal? Will you plot to become the sole Emperor, or will you struggle to save the Republic?
- In a vast sandbox turn-based campaign mode, prepare to conquer the known planet (supporting other 2-player cooperative & competitive modes). Politics, intrigue, uprisings, loyalty, honour, ambition, and betrayal are all common conspiracies. Your actions will enact your narrative.
- Build sizable armies and engage in real-time warfare on the battlefield. As you directly command tens of thousands of soldiers involved in titanic land and sea conflicts, put your tactical understanding to the test.
- Play for the glory of Rome as a member of one of three families or assume control of a wide range of rival civilisations; each offers a distinctly different gameplay experience with hundreds of distinctive units, such as siege engines, heavy cavalry, steel-plated legionaries, and barbarian berserkers.
- Watch as jaw-dropping battles occur between enormous armies and exotic ancient towns portrayed in stunning detail. A new tactical cam gives a god's eye view of the devastation to help guide your strategic decisions. Detailed camera viewpoints let you see your soldiers cheer in victory or cry in misery on the frontline.
- A highly scalable experience, with gameplay and graphics performance tuned to work on both low- and high-end systems.
