Paper Beast - Folded Edition (Global) (PC) - Steam - Digital Key

About:

A wildlife-themed exploration and adventure game set in a surreal setting.

Life has bloomed somewhere in the bowels of the internet. The very first person to step foot in this enigmatic ecosystem was you. It appears to be under the weight of an odd power. Work together with unique and lovable creatures to solve Paper Beast's riddles.

In this new release of Paper Beast, available on all screens, travel back to the vibrant and zany world that Eric Chahi, the author of Another World, created in his imagination.

There are two game modes:

  • The immersive sandbox
  • The adventure.

Key Features:

  • Discover a world filled with magnificent and wise creatures. Grab them and offer assistance; they will change how they conduct themselves.
  • Environment control. An original physics engine forms the foundation of the gameplay. One must redirect rivers, melt ice, and resist storms to complete riddles. And take off!
  • Experiment! Live a sandbox experience that is similar to a god game. Create mountains, lakes, a thriving ecology, and unleash tornadoes. Play around with the game's physics.
  • A unique soundtrack fuses the ambient sound of Roly Porter with the Japanese punk music of TsuShiMaMire.

The main inspiration for Paper Beast, which later inspired his new studio Pixel Reef, came from his use of 3D interaction. This explains many of the physics and design philosophies used in Paper Beast; there is very little world interaction, and everything is emulated using straightforward controls. For better or worse, Paper Beast can pull this off, and when Chahi's art direction and original scenarios are combined, Paper Beast shines.

Paper Beast is unquestionably the kind of game we can anticipate from Chahi; it's creative, distinctive, and endearing, all packed into one. It has a simple but lovely aesthetic; deserts covered in sand and babbling streams are home to various strange paper animals. Engaging with predators, prey, pests, and more is possible as part of an alien ecosystem that thrives in this beautiful sanctuary and fits perfectly with Chahi's imaginative world. Although it is a brutal world, it is also a vibrant and alive one that is difficult to ignore.

Gameplay:

The only other gameplay option is a more traditional Sandbox mode, where you can progress through the tale to acquire new animals, plants, objects, and other features. Sandbox mode is a beautiful addition that matches the simulation's ethos. Still, after the first few hours of exercising your imagination, it loses interest outside of letting you design your intricate ecosystems, weather risks, and creature populations.
