Product description
The free first-person shooter video game Nexuiz was created and released by Alientrap. The DarkPlaces engine, a modified version of the Quake engine, is used in the game, distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). For the Xbox 360 and Steam, a remake using CryEngine 3 with the same name, Nexuiz, has been made available. On May 31, 2005, the original game was made public.
Nexuiz closely resembles the Quake deathmatch gameplay. Nexuiz stands out for being distributed under the GNU Public License, which makes it unrestricted in terms of use and modification. Since video games are not frequently made available as free software, the scope and appeal of the Nexuiz project are particularly striking.
Gameplay
Although it offers an entire single-player campaign that enables one to go through the various multiplayer game types and maps with bots, Nexuiz is primarily a multiplayer game that allows for game hosting and game joining. Therefore, it can accommodate brand-new game kinds or efficiently implemented complete conversions (like Quake).
Nexuiz's gameplay is quite similar to Quake's. It is designed as a competitive deathmatch platform and even incorporates some of Quake's peculiarities to make it more palatable to emigrating players. However, several distinctive and intriguing weaponry in Nexuiz is absent from other first-person shooter games. Some of these impact the physics of the terrain, some are controlled by timers and the Nexuiz arsenal of weaponry exhibit even more odd characteristics.
Storyline
The Kavussari and the Forsellians have been at battle for ages. Yet, despite their tenuous agreement, they continue to throw their warriors against one another in arenas rather than on the battlefields because of their raging hatred for one another.
Those bloody battles are now being beamed across the galaxy as entertainment in a show called The Nexuiz Competition is an arena-based first-person shooter in which you can change the game's rules and the laws of physics while defeating opponents in hostile landscapes constantly evolving and roiling with resentment.
Game Features
- Nine lethal arenas: Jump into action-filled nine deadly arenas.
- This game is for competitive play with a beautifully balanced weapon selection, traditional game types, extensive stat monitoring, and support for medals and leaderboards.
