When technology collides with Cthulhu!
Magrunner Dark Pulse is an action-puzzle game in which technology clashes with H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos.
You are Dax, one of seven Magrunners chosen from an elite group to participate in MagTech Corporation's space training programme. But what should be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity quickly turns into a terrifying nightmare.
To survive and overcome challenging puzzles, you must use your Magtech glove to polarise and manipulate objects in the environment magnetically. Your reflexes and ingenuity will be tested as you progress through 40+ massive and dangerous levels, including high-tech training rooms and endless chasms of the lost cosmos, on your way to confronting the horrifying creatures of Cthulhu!
Gameplay
- Magrunner: Dark Pulse is an action puzzle game in the first person. The player can use the Magtech glove to charge any other Magtech object with either green/blue or red charges.
- Things charged with the same colour attract, whereas objects set with different colours repel one another.
- To expand game mechanics, the developer purposefully changed the natural physics approach of conventional bipolarity of Magnets when similar colours repel each other.
- Interacting with three or more objects at the same time demonstrates the importance of this change.
- The player moves through training modules, interacting with platforms, cubes, catapults, cube transformers, and other elements while solving dynamic puzzles.
- The game's mechanics evolve in different directions as it progresses, allowing for varied gameplay as puzzles become more complex and elaborate.
- Eventually, the protagonist is joined by Newton, a robotic dog that can be used whenever the player requires a movable, chargeable object.
- It affects the other charged objects when charged with one of the colour charges.
