Gameplay

 

In Knights of Pen and Paper, you don't get to choose a character. You decide who to play. Then, you do choose a feeling; it is true. It's all a part of the ridiculous, self-conscious farce of Knights and Pen and Paper. In Behold Studio's meta-RPG, you don't play a brave band of explorers making their way across a fantastical environment; instead, you play a group of pen-and-paper players who are only pretending to do so.

 

But now that I'm back at the character creation screen, I'm looking for an excellent class that Grandma can play. I chose to cast her as a Paladin to serve as the bulwark for my intrepid crew because her passive ability, and loudness, lend her more threat. Then I summoned our magician, a Nerd from the group. Now that I've had years to train for MMOs, I feel compelled to complete the party with a healer and a physical damage dealer, so I select one of the three vacant seats remaining around the gaming table.
