The galaxy is experiencing a time of enormous joy. Wedge Antilles and Luke Skywalker have destroyed the Death Star. However, there isn't much time to rejoice. In preparation for a decisive, all-out assault on the Rebel forces, the mighty Empire is gaining strength.
Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles have gathered the Rogue Squadron, twelve of the most experienced and battle-tested starfighter pilots, to defend the Rebel Alliance from this Imperial assault. As Luke Skywalker, you will take to the skies in planetary air-to-air and ground-to-air dogfights, search-and-destroy missions, surveillance flights, bombing runs, rescue missions, and more.
Key Features
- Fly X-wings, Y-wings, A-wings, V-wings, and snowspeeders to battle the Galactic Empire.
- Show the Empire's best and worst—AT-AT walkers, AT-STs, TIE fighters, and more—that you are up to the task.
- You may put your flying prowess to the test by flying over water across canyons, deserts, and volcanic zones.
- Real-time lighting and special effects are among the astounding 3D details (explosions, smoke, Engine glow, tracer fire and more).
Gameplay
Rogue Squadron is a fast-paced, arcade-style flying action Game, in contrast to the Star Wars: X-Wing series, which emphasizes space combat simulation. The 16 levels of the Game each provide new mission goals that must be finished to move to the next stage. These goals are divided into four groups: rescue, search and destroy, and protect. TIE fighters make up the majority of enemy aircraft. Among the most diverse ground defences are three types of walkers, laser and missile turrets, tanks, probe droids, shuttles, stormtroopers, and speeder bikes.
The third-person view of the Game's action is provided, and a cockpit view is also available. A health bar, a radar, and a secondary weapon ammunition count are on the heads-up display. The player can pilot the five vehicles: the X-wing, A-wing, Y-wing, snow speeder, and V-wing. Each car has a distinct armament configuration and varies in speed and manoeuvrability. For each Level, the Game initially limits the player to a specific craft; however, once a Level is finished, it can be repeated with any ship that is currently accessible. The player's skill is exposed to space in stages placed on non-atmospheric moons, making it impossible to employ repulsor craft like the speeder and V-wing. However, the vessel is still vertically constrained, much like other levels.
Throughout the entire Game, nine additional powerups are concealed in various levels. For the rest of the Game, these enhancements are applied to all skilled crafts and increase their durability or weaponry.
