Product description
You have the chance to rule Scotland, a free-spirited country of highlanders that makes its series premiere in Cossacks 3: Guardians of the Highlands. Its exciting campaign will portray the victories of the Scots in the 17th and 18th centuries and give you a chance to take part in them firsthand. The mini-addon also adds an AI assistant, a fantastic tool for novice players and seasoned gamers.
Key Features
A new country, a Scotland, a new unit, a new structure. Use the plentiful highlanders to drive even the most ferocious enemies from their positions, or use the Scottish war engines to reduce them to ashes.
New Game Mechanics:
Scottish warriors in kilts will astound even the most ardent fans by radically altering how the Game is played with new strategies and tricks.
- Assistant: breakthrough AI helper supporting the player with the most demanding jobs - running a nation. It will also automatically direct idle peasants to different resource hubs or priority chores, advise the player on which structures to construct with the available resources, and do much more! No longer must you devote yourself to activities unfit for a monarch; instead, you can concentrate on what matters, such as commanding an Army and annihilating your adversaries, while ob assistant handles the menial tasks.
- Scottish campaign: led the most challenging battles of the Gaelic warriors to victory. You will lead the sons of Alba to success, from the Marston Moor fight to the renowned Jacobite uprising!
Gameplay
Like Ukraine, Scotland has a unique playing style compared to any other nation. Scotland received the same pricey balloon to disclose the map in the 17th century as Ukraine, but they cannot travel to the 18th century. Their artillery and fleet are average, and their cavalry is subpar, but their Army is where they excel.
Highlanders and Covenanters, who supported Scotland's de facto government during the English Civil War, comprise the two branches of Scottish infantry. Covenanters appear in the shape of pikemen and musketeers, and they train at the typical barracks you are familiar with from every other side. The Covenanter musketeer is reasonably conventional. However, the pikeman forgoes the armour that most other European pikemen had in favour of a faster assault rate, which makes them less effective at withstanding opposing fire but more effective in combat. They're still a good unit, and their hats are fantastic, so they get a pass in my book even though not having armour hurts, especially in the late Game when you can anticipate facing numerous powerful musket-armed troops.
