Space combat is the central theme of the 3D RTS Game Disney's Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon. You begin playing as Jim Hawkins, a cadet in the Royal Navy's battle against pirates and the deadly Procyon Fleet, in the story-driven tasks of the primary campaign, with an eye toward eventual advancement to fleet commander. All three factions are playable in the multiplayer and skirmish modes.
Successfully performed missions result in improved ships and fleets, more seasoned crews, and improved armaments. The weaponry of the Royal Navy Fleet is more robust and less prone than the Procyon Fleet's redesigned weapons, yet they are only somewhat inferior. Torpedo boats, war sloops, escorts, frigates, and the majestic StarHammer are among the ships used by the Royal Navy. In contrast, pirates use sloops, gunboats, schooners, attack cutters, and other vessels, including some unusual ones like the carrack and barque. The Procyon Fleet is designed for quick hit-and-run strikes and is engineered to be swift and manoeuvrable. As the Game proceeds, rumours of a mysterious Ironclad Fleet also start circulating.
Campaign Mode
Jim Hawkins graduates from the Royal Navy Academy five years after the events of Treasure Planet and is appointed the captain of an Imperial patrol ship. Her Majesty's Empire is attempting to reach a peace agreement with the Procyon's, a race of fighters resembling raccoons who have been at war with the Empire for decades, as Jim patrols various regions of the Etherium. They dispatch a diplomatic armada under the leadership of Procyon diplomat Evar to Parliament, the seat of power and residence of the Queen, for the peace negotiations. However, strange, nearly unstoppable iron vessels known as Ironclads wreak havoc throughout Imperial territory, and piracy raids are a regular occurrence.
Multiplayer
The Game has three distinct factions: the Royal Navy, the Procyons, and the Pirates. The Ironclads are listed among the Procyon fleet, slightly revealing the unexpected finale. Depending on the particular map, the player chooses a faction to play in the skirmishes or has one selected for them. You can add more AI players and decide to make them your pals or opponents.
Setup
With solar winds filling the sails and rigging, the ships in Battle at Procyon are designed like the seagoing vessels from the heyday of sail. Modern light, medium, and heavy weaponry include baseball and plasma cannons, beam weapons, Gatling guns, harpoons, launchers for fire and nets, gravity waves, torpedoes, mortars, and more. Other capabilities include star charts, panic fire, secondary ship control, multiple waypoint settings, towing, grappling, and boarding options, and actions for docking, repairing, towing, and docking.
