Costume Quest is a humorous and intriguing animated television series for children aged six to eleven. It is based on the popular video Game series by Double Fine Productions (Psychonauts, Broken Age) and the world initially created by Tasha Stuart. In this animated series, four children battle the evil forces that lie in the shadows of their tranquil hamlet of Auburn Pines. They must learn to unlock and harness the magical powers of super-normal clothes because each outfit has a unique set of transformations and abilities to overcome challenges and accomplish its objectives. It's Halloween when the Game is played. Reynold and Wren, fraternal twins, are asked by their mother to use trick-or-treating to meet people in the area since they are new to it. At this stage, the player selects which brother to play as. The two put on their costumes, the playable player dressing as a robot and the non-playable character as a piece of candy corn. The non-playable sibling is seen by a sweet-toothed monster, who kidnaps them. Now the player character must hurry home before curfew and save their sibling. The player character follows the demons and their siblings from the neighbourhood, then travels to a mall, then a country town, picking up additional party members. 
After beating Dorsilla, the monster's commander, the player character, will eventually confront her. After defeating Dorsilla, the player character learns that the beast Cadaverous Big Bones is Dorsilla's employer. 
The player character can rescue their brother, go home, and send the monsters back to their home world by defeating him.
