Commander: Conquest of the Americas (PC) - Steam - Digital Key

Commander: Conquest of the Americas combines features from commerce and strategy games, making it appealing to a variety of gamers. The player controls one of the numerous European nations attempting to conquer the New World. Players can select from a wide variety of nations beginning in the sixteenth century, each with distinct advantages and disadvantages. The secret to success is creating successful new colonies. Players must first convey the items to other territories or return to Europe before managing and optimising resources and productivity in their colonies. Depending on the player's choices, rival powers and Native Americans may be allies or adversaries. Rival fleets clash at a tactical level that is quite intricate.

Gameplay

  • Build colonies at (random for each game) predetermined colony places. The number of spots depends on your level of difficulty. Each of the seven regions features three colonies on hard, four on medium, and five on easy, with (random per game) resource options.
  • It is advised to save at the beginning, cruise around to choose a lovely site (or better 2, 2) to land, and then reload the saved game.
  • Create your first colony, then send a fleet back to Europe immediately (clicking the Return to Homeport button on ship commands). Transfer as many colonists as possible to your second colony after your ship docks. If you have long-term goals, you might wish to establish as many territories as possible.
  • You ought to have a steady flow of products returning to Europe and settlers arriving in the New World. There may occasionally not be enough colonists to fill the boats. Then consider "luxury items" and soldiers. Soldiers take up cargo space, which is necessary to protect colonies and staff your vessels.
  • Don't take on more soldiers than you can manage because you must pay their salaries, and you won't have someplace to put them (after your garrisons are complete). Whether it be people or cargo, you cannot abandon anything.

Construct ships of two categories—Ocean and Coastal—and two classes—Warship and Trader—are present. Only ocean-going ships can reach Europe (Return to Europe button greyed). Warships have an edge in warfare, are frequently faster, can carry more guns, and have less cargo. Encourage mixed formations (a warship watching over transports), and subsequently, when you have more ships, form squadrons of up to three fleets.

Build what you can afford to, but watch your spending. You cannot trade between the colony and Europe if you run out of money. Typically, this entails delaying some of the adviser's recommendations to continually construct items that might not be required.
