The sixth instalment of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4, was created by CyberConnect2 and released by Namco-Bandai for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam. It was made available on February 4 in Japan, February 5 in Europe, and February 9 in North America. On February 3, 2017, "Road to Boruto"—an improved version—was made available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam. On April 24, 2020, a Nintendo Switch port was made public.

Key Features

• Gaara's Tale Extra Scenario Pack, Shikamaru's Tale Extra Scenario Pack, and Sound Four Extra Playable Characters Pack from the Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Season Pass, as well as the brand-new Road to Boruto DLC and all of the previously exclusive worldwide pre-order bonus content, are included in this edition.

• Boruto, Sarada, Hokage Naruto, and Sasuke (Wandering Shinobi) are the new playable characters on the character roster. A new Hidden Leaf Village has been added as the Game's environment.
• The gameplay is extended by the new Collection and Challenge Elements.

Gameplay

The "Wall Running" feature from earlier games returns in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto, allowing two shinobi to battle while scaling the walls of the chosen area. It is hinted in this Game that if one character runs up the wall, the other character can still fight on the ground, unlike earlier instalments when if one player ran up the wall, the other player was compelled to battle on the border as well.

The Game also has a new feature called "Leader Swap," which allows you to switch out the primary character you're fighting for one of your backup characters, which may be cancelled into and out of the majority of different activities.

The substitute character will have the same life bar as the primary character and continue to be in an Awakening condition for balance. Support characters from earlier games in the series have been left out due to the new feature. However, Leader Swaps can quickly disengage assaults on the user, which can invalidate offence further (essentially allowing skilled users to maintain both offence and defence simultaneously). When combined, a new Naruto and Sasuke will have an excellent Combination Awakening in Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto.

• Close-range or mid-range strikes are rendered impossible by the ability to cancel into a ninja tool, further weakening characters with projectile-based movesets.
• Once more, the Body Replacement metre recharges a little more quickly than it did in Generations 3 and Revolution. When combined with Leader Swap, this makes it possible for players to conserve the metre among team members easily.
• The air chakra dash is now a mere shell of what it once was because of major nerfs to its startup and travel speeds.
