Discover humanity's most sinister secret!
Sylvie Leroux, a young archaeologist, unintentionally discovers a long-lost mystery. She is unaware that her studies will put her in grave danger. Who would want to stop her from completing her research? Is she being obstructed by ordinary people or a supernatural force?
Gameplay
- The Scorpio Ritual's gameplay is linear, 3D, and from the third-person viewpoint.
- The player controls the character's movement by clicking on the main display's places; the scene won't cross-fade until the surface has completed all the tasks. NPCs and particular screen objects can be connected or moved around by players.
- When dumped, the objects revert to their starting location.
- The Game has interactive cutscenes that appear when a player completes one area before going on to the next.
- To complete the Game, the player must travel to real-world locales like Malta, Gozo, Istanbul, and the Vatican. Since there is no time constraint, the Game is non-violent, lacks "sudden death" scenarios, and may be played at the player's leisure.
The bottom left corner of a screen has an in-game hint system that the player can use (in a magnifying glass shape). The player carries several goods, some of which can be read, like the book on Malta.
Storyline
In the Game's opening scene, Sylvie Leroux is in Paris writing an essay when she has a vision of the Knights Templar. Her uncle is an archaeologist, and she learns over the phone that he has gone missing. Sylvie packs a bag and heads to Malta, but she cannot locate her uncle there. Then she makes her way to the Gozo archaeological site, where she thinks she might run across her uncle. She arrived at the location and saw that the police were now in charge. Not only did they seize possession of the background, but they also managed to seize control of her uncle's home.
She fabricates a false identification and poses as a reporter. By coincidence, she discovers two photos with Maltese shrouds and two shots with cubical-shaped stones. She believes this is related in some way to her uncle's disappearance. Sylvie discovers that her uncle's home has been plundered but that nothing has been taken when she returns from Gozo. She also finds a letter addressed to James that tells how the Hospitallers and Templars split apart. She then travels from Malta to Istanbul, Turkey, where she walks into an art gallery and discusses the stones with the curator. However, she quit since the gallery management struck her as untrustworthy and cold.
