Battle Cats Terms to Know Before You Read the Rankings

| Meatshield | A cheap cat you spam in front to soak up hits |
| Backliner | A cat that attacks from far behind your front line |
| Rusher | A fast cat that runs in, hits hard, and often dies before you redeploy it |
| Sniper | A cat with very long range that picks off enemies from safety |
| Traits | Enemy types like Red, Floating, Black (also called Dark), Metal, Angel, Alien, Zombie, Relic, and Aku. Plain white enemies are Traitless |
| Wave and Surge | Special attacks that keep going past the first enemy and hit others behind it |

| Freeze, Slow, Weaken, Knockback | Stop enemies, slow them down, cut their damage, or push them back |

SS Tier: The Best Cats in The Battle Cats Right Now
These are the best Ubers in Battle Cats today and the top of our Battle Cats tier list. The first ten are listed in order of strength, and any of them can carry a lineup through endgame content on their own.

Lone Moon Lunos (Dark Lunos)
Banner: Epicfest exclusive. Role: Tank and summoner.
Lone Moon Lunos is the top cat on this list right now. He is a sturdy mid range fighter who conjures a spirit that blasts enemies with a wave attack. Anything that spirit kills drops double money, so every summon pays for the next one and you snowball through stages fast. He also resists Alien, Zombie, Floating, and Traitless enemies and pushes them back with strong knockbacks.
Squire Luno (Lunos)
Banner: Uberfest exclusive. Role: Tank and summoner.
The light version plays almost the same way, but his spirit knocks every enemy back instead of earning extra money. With decent timing you can keep a boss stuck in place and chip it down without any risk. He resists Black, Angel, Relic, and Aku enemies. Plenty of players actually prefer him over Lone Moon Lunos because he feels nearly impossible to kill, and the gap between the two is tiny.
Celestial Child Luna
Banner: Uberfest exclusive. Role: Backliner.
Luna only targets four enemy types, Red, Alien, Zombie, and Relic. The catch is that those four show up in almost every hard stage in the game. Against them she deals huge explosion damage, freezes them in place, and gets bonus damage on top. She is quick to deploy and move, so even with a narrow target list she ends up feeling like a generalist.
Supernova Cosmo (The Grateful Crane)
Banner: Ultra Souls. Role: Long range sniper.
Do not judge this cat by its first form, which is close to useless. Once evolved, The Grateful Crane turns into Cosmo, a sniper with one of the longest attack ranges in the game. As Supernova Cosmo, his Ultra Form, he hits with an omni strike and a wave that nukes damage across the whole field, plus knockback, freeze, and curse against Angel and Floating enemies. Keep a few cheap meatshields in front and Cosmo outranges almost everything. Just know that fully evolving him eats a lot of Catfruit.
Ultra Jizo (Kasa Jizo)
Banner: Ultra Souls. Role: Spammable attacker.
Kasa Jizo has been the go to beginner Uber for years, and the Ultra Form keeps it at the very top. Ultra Jizo is the best spammable attacker in the game, with massive health, the ability to survive a hit that should kill it, and high damage that stacks up fast when you send out several copies. It deals extra damage to Black and Angel enemies and can even solo some three crown Uncanny Legends stages. The Ultra Form unlocks at level 60.
Greater Balrog Cat (Lesser Demon Cat)
Banner: The Dynamites. Role: Melee damage dealer.
This cat starts as Lesser Demon Cat and becomes Greater Balrog Cat in True Form. He is a melee fighter with enormous damage per hit and Strengthen for even more. He costs around 3,000 to deploy and comes back in under 30 seconds, so you can throw him at bosses again and again. The weakness is that he only hits one enemy at a time, so crowds of small enemies can swarm him. He is also average until you level him and unlock his talents, so either go all in on Balrog or skip him.
Lasvoss
Banner: The Dynamites. Role: Burst nuker.
Lasvoss is all about one giant hit. He is fast, and his Savage Blow combined with Strengthen lets him land some of the biggest single hits in the game. Players often send him in like a kamikaze to one shot a boss or rip off a huge chunk of its health, which ends stages faster than any other top Uber. The downside is luck. Some runs he lands the big hit, and some runs he does not.
Daybreaker Izanagi
Banner: Festival banners (Legend Rare). Role: Mid range nuker.
Izanagi is the best Legend Rare in the game. He deals insane damage to every traited enemy with a three part attack that lands across the field, and he conjures a spirit for extra chances to attack and stay alive. He only hits one target at a time, so give him good meatshields and he will melt bosses.
King of Doom Phono (Dark Phono)
Banner: Epicfest exclusive. Role: Sniper and support.
Dark Phono has long range, high damage, and slows every enemy type while small surges add even more control. That means one cat can work as an attacker, a rusher, and a support unit at the same time. It fits into nearly any lineup, which is why many players call it one of the most flexible units in The Battle Cats.
Kasli the Bane (Dark Kasli)
Banner: Epicfest exclusive. Role: Backliner.
Kasli the Bane has high stats across the board and fires long distance surge attacks that shred everything in front of her. Her Curse hits every enemy and switches off their status effects, so cursed enemies cannot freeze or slow your cats. She is also immune to waves, surges, weaken, warp, and curse. Since Relic enemies rely on cursing your cats and her own curse shuts theirs down, she is a hard counter to them too. Easy to use and hard to stop.
Child of Destiny Phono
Banner: Uberfest exclusive. Role: Sniper.
The light Phono hits from far away with long distance multi hit attacks and deals massive damage to any traited enemy. If you do not own many Ubers yet, this is one of the best general attackers you can land. It sits just behind Kasli the Bane because she matches most of what it does and adds curse and better bulk.
Splendid Ganesha
Banner: The Almighties. Role: Backliner.
Ganesha is already an S tier cat, and Ultra Talents push it into SS. It attacks from long distance across a wide area, deals huge general damage, and has Strengthen plus solid survival. It trades the crowd control of Kasli the Bane for a single huge nuke and damage that can match hers. Many players sleep on it simply because they already own a fest sniper that fills the same slot.
Dioramos
Banner: Dragon Emperors. Role: Tanky backliner.
Base Dioramos sits in C tier, but the Ultra Form makes him one of the tankiest backliners in the game with huge damage to match. He knocks back and slows Angels and Aliens, and his attack timing keeps his damage steady. He is expensive and slow to redeploy, but he is the one big reason to pull the Dragon Emperors banner.
S Tier: Top Battle Cats Ubers for Any Lineup
S tier cats are a small step below the top, and many of them are easier to get. Here are the standouts.

Netherworld Nymph Lunacia (Dark Luna)
Banner: Epicfest exclusive. Role: Backliner.
Lunacia mirrors Luna but covers a different set of enemies. She uses explosions, bonus damage, and weaken against Floating, Angel, Aku, and Traitless enemies. She is quick to deploy and move, which makes her easy to fit into almost any team.
Detective Vigler
Banner: Dark Heroes. Role: Generalist and crowd control.
Vigler changes his targets with every form. His first form freezes Floating and Alien enemies with waves and carries one of the best Cat Combos in the game. Later forms switch to Zombie and Relic targets, and the Ultra Form gives him a stronger wave and a faster attack that turn him into a reliable generalist.
Akira
Banner: Dark Heroes. Role: Backliner.
Akira starts out weak, but his True Form gives him bonus damage and freeze against Alien and Aku. His Ultra Talent adds a surge attack that reaches enemies hiding behind the front line, and that is what pushes him into S tier. The catch is that his Ultra Talents cost a lot of NP.
Shining Amaterasu
Banner: The Almighties. Role: Backliner.
Amaterasu deals massive damage to every traited enemy and has Strengthen for even more. She is easy to deploy and her damage output is huge, which makes her a strong general attacker. Ultra Talents make her even better.
Wrathful Poseidon
Banner: The Almighties. Role: Rusher.
Poseidon is a mid range rusher with a Savage Blow that can hit for around 300,000 damage. He freezes Metal and Zombie enemies and stops Zombies from reviving. He is affordable, sturdy, and works like a mix between Balrog and Yukimura, although his big hits depend on luck.
Empress Chronos
Banner: The Almighties. Role: Support.
Chronos fires long distance attacks and surges that freeze traited enemies across a big area. The freeze is short, but it creates perfect openings for rushers like Greater Balrog Cat and Sanada Yukimura to land their hits safely. She does not top damage charts, but she makes your best attackers much better.
Sanada Yukimura
Banner: Sengoku Wargods. Role: Rusher.
Yukimura is a melee kamikaze. He is very fast, deals massive damage to Black enemies, and is cheap with a quick cooldown. Send him in, let him land a few hits on the target, and deploy him again.
Miko Mitama
Banner: Uberfest exclusive. Role: Support.
Mitama hits from long distance and keeps traited enemies slowed almost all the time. She is immune to waves, knockback, freeze, slow, and weaken, and she resists traited enemies. Her health is low, but she survives surprisingly well because enemies rarely reach her.
D’arktanyan
Banner: Epicfest exclusive. Role: Rusher.
D’arktanyan is a fast and bulky mid range rusher with massive damage against Traitless enemies and Strengthen on top. His general stats are strong enough that he works well even outside his favorite matchups.
A Tier: Strong Battle Cats Ubers Worth Building
In this Battle Cats tier list, A tier cats will not carry every stage on their own, but they are strong, reliable, and well worth your XP.

Shadow Gao
Banner: Epicfest exclusive. Role: Backliner.
Shadow Gao evolves into Diabolic Gao at level 10. He deals massive damage to Traitless enemies and freezes them once evolved. He is immune to waves and knockback and has high range and health, so he wipes Traitless stages with ease.
Radiant Aphrodite
Banner: The Almighties. Role: Sniper.
Aphrodite uses long distance attacks to hit the enemy back line and deals massive damage to Aliens. Her steady damage from a safe distance makes her one of the best Alien counters in the game.
Lucifer the Fallen
Banner: The Almighties. Role: Sniper.
Lucifer fires long distance attacks and surges that deal high damage, with bonus damage against Floating, Angel, and Aku enemies. He is also immune to surges, which helps a lot on tricky late game stages.
Thunder Jack
Banner: Dark Heroes. Role: Rusher.
Thunder Jack is a bulky, fast melee fighter with rapid hits and huge damage. He knocks back Alien and Angel enemies in his first form, Alien and Zombie enemies when evolved, and Alien and Aku enemies in True Form.
Catman
Banner: Dark Heroes. Role: Backliner.
Catman is an older Uber that the Ultra Form brought back to life. He deals massive damage to Alien, Angel, and Relic enemies, attacks rapidly, and gets a faster cooldown, which gives him great coverage for the late game.
Sea Serpent Daliasan
Banner: Dragon Emperors. Role: Sniper.
Daliasan pierces enemies from long distance and lands Savage Blows for big bursts. He has strong damage, survives well, and slows Angels and Floating enemies.
B Tier: Situational Battle Cats Ubers
B tier is where the Battle Cats tier list gets situational. These cats are good on the right stage and fall behind on others. Several of them are fantastic early game pickups.

Momotaro
Banner: Ultra Souls. Role: Freezer and backliner.
Momotaro’s first form is a cheap, short range unit that freezes Red and Angel enemies, and stacking a few copies can keep melee enemies frozen. Evolved, he becomes a fast backliner with a super short cooldown that freezes, knocks back, and weakens Red and Angel enemies almost nonstop.
Hattori Hanzo
Banner: Sengoku Wargods. Role: Backliner.
Hanzo deals massive damage to Black and Floating enemies and freezes them. He starts his attacks very quickly, so his freezes land often enough to control big swarms.
Iz the Dancer of Grief
Banner: Epicfest exclusive. Role: Rusher.
Dark Izu is a melee rusher who hits on both sides with rapid attacks and deals massive damage to Traitless enemies. Dark Izu is cheap with a very fast cooldown and carries almost every ability in the game, though the burst damage is low.
Ganglion
Banner: Dragon Emperors. Role: Rusher.
Ganglion is a fast mid range rusher who deals extra damage to Alien and Zombie enemies and takes less damage from them. He also stops Zombies from reviving. His attack rate is slow, but he survives well and hits hard when he connects.
C Tier: Niche Battle Cats Ubers
C tier cats each have one narrow job. They are fine to use while your roster is thin, but do not spend rare materials on them.

Cat Machine
Banner: The Dynamites. Role: Frontline tank.
Cat Machine is a fast, cheap tank that resists Red and Alien enemies and blocks waves to protect the cats behind it. Its slow wind up means it misses a lot, which keeps it in C tier.
Twinstars
Banner: Galaxy Gals. Role: Mid range attacker.
Twinstars attacks rapidly and deals massive damage to Black and Alien enemies, which lets it juggle crowds. It is fast and fun, but by the late game you will have better options for those enemies.
D Tier: Weak Battle Cats Ubers and Hidden Late Bloomers
Most D tier cats are outdated or seasonal Ubers you can safely ignore. But look closely, because several of them jump to A or S tier after an Ultra Form or Ultra Talent upgrade. Akira, Mizli, Kuu, and Coppermine all start in D tier in their base form and climb to A or S tier later. Two more late bloomers deserve a closer look.

Cat Clan Heroes
Banner: The Dynamites. Role: Support.
Base Cat Clan Heroes sits near the bottom, but the Ultra Form launches him into S tier. After the upgrade he becomes a support cat with long distance attacks that weaken Red, Floating, Black, and Relic enemies, plus explosions that add strong crowd control.
Narita Kaihime
Banner: Sengoku Wargods. Role: Backliner.
Base Kaihime is weak, but her Ultra Form moves her up to A tier. She gains high damage and health, Savage Blows, and explosions that multiply her damage, and she slows Zombie and Black enemies.
Battle Cats Legend Rare Tier List
Legend Rares are the rarest cats in the game, with only a 0.3 percent chance to drop from most Rare Capsule draws, or 0.6 percent on certain banners. Rarity does not automatically mean power though, and most Legend Rares sit in A or B tier.
| Tier | Legend Rare Cats |
| SS | Daybreaker Izanagi |
| A | Izanami of Dusk, Kyosaka Nanaho, Gaia the Creator, Black Zeus, Ushiwakamaru, Mighty Kristul Muu |
| B | High Lord Babel, Lumina, Moonshade Kaworu, Wonder MOMOCO, Doktor Heaven, Jeanne, Emperor Cat, Musashi Miyamoto |
| C | Akuma, Legeluga |

Here are the Legend Rares worth knowing besides Izanagi:
- Kyosaka Nanaho: A Girls and Monsters Legend Rare that is incredibly tough against Metal enemies. Her long range area attacks can land critical hits and break enemy barriers, which makes her a lifesaver on Metal stages.
- Gaia the Creator: An Almighties Legend Rare with long distance multi hit attacks that deal insane damage to traited enemies. She is fragile and has a big blind spot up close, so she needs protection.
- Izanami of Dusk: Izanagi’s festival partner. She deals insane damage to Traitless enemies, but her base stats are weak and her best hits depend on luck.
- Mighty Kristul Muu: A Legend Rare built around durability that holds the line well against tough Zombie stages.
Best Non Uber Cats in The Battle Cats for Free to Play Players
The game is built so you can clear it without Ubers, and the right Rare and Super Rare cats carry more weight than most new players expect. These rankings judge each cat across the whole game, from the early chapters to postgame content, and their letter grades are separate from the main Battle Cats tier list above.

Best Super Rare Cats
| Tier | Super Rare Cats |
| SS | Hip Hop Cat, Nerd Cat |
| S | Weightlifter Cat, Figure Skating Cats, Sniper the Recruit, Surfer Cat, Vaulter Cat |
| A | Sushi Cat, Swimmer Cat, Kotatsu Cat, Cutter Cat, Metal Cat |
| B | Fencer Cat, Rich Cat III, Freshman Cat Jobs, Miter Saw Cat, Nymph Cat |
| C | Driller Cat, Neneko |
| D | Apple Cat, Juliet Cat, Bath Cat, Delinquent Cat |
| E | Backhoe Cat, Gold Cat, Piledriver Cat, Bodhisattva Cat |
| F | Cat Toaster, Cat Base Mini |
Hip Hop Cat is a fast melee fighter with huge single target damage. He slows Red and Alien enemies and earns double money from kills. Nerd Cat has extreme range and slows every enemy type, though he has a big blind spot and costs almost as much as an Uber. Surfer Cat is another standout thanks to cheap, reliable freezes against Aliens.

Best Rare Cats
| Tier | Rare Cats |
| SS | Rocker Cat, Pogo Cat |
| S | Jurassic Cat, Mer-Cat, Shaman Cat |
| A | Wushu Cat, Bishop Cat, Matador Cat, Rover Cat |
| B | Salon Cat, Psychocat, Archer Cat, Onmyoji Cat |
| C | Wheel Cat, Pirate Cat, Welterweight Cat, Gardener Cat |
| D | Viking Cat, Stilts Cat |
| E | Fortune Teller Cat, Witch Cat, Cat Gunslinger |
| F | Thief Cat, Tin Cat, Swordsman Cat |
Rocker Cat is a cheap, bulky meatshield that resists Angels. Pogo Cat is fast and always survives at least one hit, which makes him a top meatshield in late game stages where weaker shields get one shot. Jurassic Cat is the best non Uber Metal counter in the game thanks to his frequent critical hits. Salon Cat is great early but falls off later, so do not over invest in her.

Best Normal Cats
| Tier | Normal Cats |
| S | Tank Cat |
| A | Superfeline |
| B | Lizard Cat, Fish Cat |
| C | Gross Cat |
| D | Titan Cat, Axe Cat |
| E | Bird Cat, Cat |
| F | Cow Cat |
Tank Cat is the backbone of almost every lineup. It is cheap, has a lot of health for the price, and survives at least one hit from most enemies well into the late game. Superfeline is a strong Relic counter, but it is very hard to level, so treat it as a long term project.
How We Ranked the Cats in This Battle Cats Tier List
We built this Battle Cats tier list on top of long running community rankings and testing for version 15.6, then cross checked unit abilities against community databases. The focus is simple. How many hard stages can a cat carry, how easy is it to use, and how hard is it to replace with something you already own?
Community rankings split cats into very fine grades like S+, S, and S minus. We grouped those into six clean tiers so the list is easier to read without changing the order underneath.
| Tier | What It Means |
| SS | Game changing cats that carry the hardest stages in the game |
| S | Top picks that slot into almost any lineup |
| A | Strong cats worth leveling, often great in a specific role |
| B | Situational cats that shine on the right stage and fall behind elsewhere |
| C | Niche picks with one narrow job |
| D | Skip for now, unless an Ultra Form or Ultra Talent upgrade is coming for them |
Keep one thing in mind. Rankings assume a fully built cat. A unit can sit low here and still be a great early game helper, and a few D tier cats turn into S tier monsters once they unlock their Ultra Form.

Best Battle Cats Banners to Pull and How to Spend Cat Food
Pulling smart matters as much as knowing the best cats in Battle Cats. Follow these rules and your Cat Food will go a lot further.
- Use Rare Tickets on Uberfest, Epicfest, and Superfest – All three festivals boost your Uber odds, and Uberfest and Epicfest also include every regular Uber plus their own exclusives.
- Save Cat Food for Guaranteed Uber 11 draws – A single draw costs 150 Cat Food and an 11 draw costs 1,500 at normal price. Guaranteed Uber campaigns can run on regular banners, but never during Uberfest, Epicfest, or Superfest.
- Pull for gaps, not hype – A new Uber is only an upgrade if it fixes a problem your lineup actually has.

Here is how the main banners stack up based on this Battle Cats tier list:
| Banner | Best Cats Inside | Our Verdict |
| Epicfest | Lone Moon Lunos, Kasli the Bane, King of Doom Phono, Netherworld Nymph Lunacia, D’arktanyan, Shadow Gao | Best use of Rare Tickets |
| Uberfest | Squire Luno, Celestial Child Luna, Child of Destiny Phono, Miko Mitama | Best use of Rare Tickets |
| Superfest | Higher Uber rates, but its featured Ubers Li’l Valkyrie and Li’l Valkyrie Dark sit in C tier | Good for tickets, weak featured cats |
| Ultra Souls | Supernova Cosmo, Ultra Jizo, Momotaro, Issun Boshi | Great guaranteed banner |
| The Almighties | Splendid Ganesha, Shining Amaterasu, Wrathful Poseidon, Anubis the Protector, Empress Chronos | Great guaranteed banner |
| The Dynamites | Greater Balrog Cat, Lasvoss, Cat Clan Heroes, Baby Cat | Great, but the top cats need heavy investment |
| Dark Heroes | Detective Vigler, Akira, Catman, Thunder Jack, Hayabusa | Good |
| Galaxy Gals | Thundia, Kai, Kuu, Windy | Good once you can unlock their upgrades |
| Sengoku Wargods | Sanada Yukimura, Maeda Keiji | Decent |
| Elemental Pixies | Mizli, Gravi | Decent |
| Iron Legion | Kat-A-Pult, Thermae, Drednot, Bomburr, Mighty Kristul Muu | Decent, Ultra Forms needed |
| Girls and Monsters | Reika, Himeyuri, Kyosaka Nanaho | Decent |
| Dragon Emperors | Dioramos, Sea Serpent Daliasan | Weakest regular banner |
Uberfest vs Epicfest is the most common question. Both are worth your tickets. Epicfest exclusives are built to destroy Traitless enemies, while Uberfest exclusives mostly target traited enemies, so pick the fest that covers the enemy types giving you the most trouble.

The Battle Cats Tier List FAQs
Who is the best cat in The Battle Cats right now?
Lone Moon Lunos and Squire Luno are the best cats in version 15.6, and the gap between them is tiny. Celestial Child Luna, Supernova Cosmo, and Ultra Jizo round out the top five.
What is the best Uber for beginners in Battle Cats?
Kasa Jizo is the classic pick. Its first form is cheap, tough, and easy to spam, and it stays useful all the way to the endgame once you unlock the Ultra Form. Guaranteed draws on Ultra Souls and The Almighties are the safest banners for new players.
Is Kasli the Bane still good?
Yes. Kasli the Bane is an SS tier Uber. Her curse shuts down enemy status effects, she is immune to waves and surges, and she deals huge damage from long distance.
What is the difference between Uberfest and Epicfest?
Both festivals include every regular Uber with a boosted Uber rate. Each one also has its own exclusive cats. Epicfest exclusives focus on Traitless enemies, while Uberfest exclusives focus on traited enemies.
Are Legend Rares better than Uber Rares?
Not always. Daybreaker Izanagi is the only Legend Rare in SS tier, and most Legend Rares rank in A or B tier, below many regular Ubers.
Can you beat The Battle Cats without Ubers?
Yes. The game is designed to be cleared without Ubers. Strong non Uber cats like Tank Cat, Rocker Cat, Pogo Cat, Jurassic Cat, Hip Hop Cat, and Nerd Cat can carry you a long way, and Ubers simply make the hardest stages easier.
How often does the Battle Cats tier list change?
Most updates add new Ubers, True Forms, Ultra Forms, Talents, and Ultra Talents, and any of those can shuffle the rankings. Version 15.7 is already live in Japan, so expect changes once it reaches the global version.
