Star Sailors is generous in one way. Almost nobody on the roster is flat out useless. The catch is that your summons and upgrade materials run dry fast, so building the wrong partner still hurts. This Star Sailors tier list ranks every Battle Partner and Assist Partner by what they actually bring to story stages, boss raids and long fights. We have also talked about the best adventure classes and monsters to choose in later sections. For now, let’s proceed with the tier list!

Star Sailors Tier List for All Battle Partners and Assist Partners
Battle Partners and Assist Partners do completely different jobs, so they are ranked separately. Here is the short version before we get into the details.
| Tier | Battle Partners | Assist Partners |
| S | Heidi, Nina, Kaira, Jen, Nadia the Sand Artist | Hunter K, Iris, Gerbil |
| A | Carat, Erling, Ethan, Soul | Remi the Rolling Pop, Dora, Nutty, Jerry, Mui, Sion |
| B | Rak, Iron | Simo, Caroline, Ed |
| C | Remi | Nadia |
What Each Tier Means Here?
- S Tier: Performs in almost every mode and fits into most teams. Build these first.
- A Tier: Excellent in the right element or team. Rarely a wasted investment.
- B Tier: Fine for story progress and specific elemental teams, but outclassed later.
- C Tier: Early game filler. Swap them out as soon as you pull something better.
These rankings focus on PvE content like the story, dungeons and boss raids. Where a partner is noticeably better in PvP, we point it out.

S-Tier Battle Partners
Check out all the battle partners in this tier:

Heidi
Heidi is the safest pull in the game if you can only build one Battle Partner. Her AoE Fire attacks gain Fired Up stacks whenever any ally applies a debuff, and her Flare Up effect lowers enemy Fire RES. In short, she hits harder the longer a fight drags on. Pair her with a debuffer like Caroline and enemy waves simply melt.

Renewa
Nina is the boss killer of Star Sailors. Her Checkmate skill piles damage onto one target, and her Foresight effect guarantees a critical hit and refreshes every time she crits. The trade off shows up in multi enemy waves, where she overkills one target while the rest keep swinging. Save her for raids and bosses and let Heidi handle the crowds.

Kaira
Kaira is the partner nobody regrets pulling. Crimson Waltz raises the whole team’s ATK, her Ultimate makes enemies take more damage while healing every ally, and her Zeal stacks keep scaling her own ATK. That is a buffer, a healer and a secondary damage dealer in a single slot, which makes her the top reroll target for new accounts.

Jen
Jen is the best tank in Star Sailors right now. She protects low HP allies by absorbing part of their incoming damage, reduces damage taken across the team, strips enemy buffs and turns her World Tree’s Seed stacks into team healing. If your damage dealers keep dying right before the win, Jen is the fix.

Nadia the Sand Artist
The summer version of Nadia jumps from a C tier Assist to an S tier frontliner. She is an Earth Defender whose Blue Lagoon Wave lowers the target’s Crit Rate RES, making enemies easier to crit, while Parasol Rush builds stacks that power up her Ultimate buffs. That combination makes her the perfect bodyguard for crit focused Earth teams built around Nina.
A-Tier Battle Partners
Check out all the battle partners in this tier:

Carat
The best budget Battle Partner in Star Sailors and a steal for a 2 Star. Chill Diva raises her Crit Rate by 16.5% for five turns, and each Unicorn Horn stack adds 20% to her Ultimate damage, up to five stacks. Some community rankings even put her in S tier, and in Wind teams that argument holds up.

Erling
A Water Defender who lowers enemy RES, cuts the damage allies take and shields the team. The first Defender to build for Water teams and a strong backup reroll pick.

Ethan
A free Light Attacker with shields and healing built into his kit, plus an Ultimate that strips enemy shields. He carries early Light teams and stays relevant thanks to that self sustain.

Soul
Soul hits hardest when his HP is high. Red Blade and Scarlet Feast add bonus hits at 50%, 75% and full HP, and his Trait heals him whenever that bonus damage lands. He is cheap to upgrade and a great early boss DPS, though fully built 3 Star attackers pull ahead later.
C-Tier Battle Partners
Check out all the battle partners in this tier:

Rak
An AoE taunt tank who restores SP and builds Chain Bonus when hit. Solid in F2P Fire teams, but his damage depends on enemies staying taunted.

Iron
A tough Earth Defender with shields and self recovery. He holds the line in early chapters but brings very little damage once content gets harder.
D-Tier Battle Partners
Check out all the battle partners in this tier:

Remi
A shield focused Defender with almost no damage outside her Ultimate. Use her in the first few chapters and replace her as soon as you can. Do not mix her up with Remi the Rolling Pop, who is a far better Assist Partner.
Where Does Lucy Fit in the Star Sailors Tier List?
Lucy joined the Star Sailors roster through the collaboration with the webtoon The Extra’s Academy Survival Guide, and the best part is that she was a freebie. Players could claim her just by logging in during the collab check in event. She is a 3 Star partner who uses lightning magic to deal heavy damage.

Her kit swaps between Lazy and Awakened modes based on her SP, which either boosts her Crit Rate and Magic Power or temporarily shuts off her SP Recovery. Her skills focus on single target damage and her Ultimate grants a shield, which makes her a strong pick for boss content.
| Detail | Lucy |
| How to Get | Free through the collab check in event |
| Rarity | 3 Star |
| Best At | Single target damage and boss fights |
| Element | TBA |
| Partner Slot | TBA |
| Our Rating | S Tier |
Community rankings disagree on whether Lucy runs as a Battle or Assist Partner, so we have left those fields as TBA until her full in game data is confirmed. Either way, if you logged in during the event, build her. Free S tier damage does not come around often.
Star Sailors Assist Partners Tier List
Assist Partners never step onto the field, but they buff, debuff, heal and lend stats to everyone who does. In tougher content, the right Assist pair matters just as much as your Battle lineup.
| Partner | Tier | Element | Role |
| Hunter K | S | Earth | Supporter |
| Iris | S | Light | Attacker |
| Gerbil | S | Light | Debuffer |
| Remi the Rolling Pop | A | Earth | Supporter |
| Dora | A | Water | Supporter |
| Nutty | A | Earth | Debuffer |
| Jerry | A | Earth | Attacker |
| Mui | A | Wind | Supporter |
| Sion | A | Light | Attacker |
| Simo | B | Wind | Debuffer |
| Caroline | B | Fire | Debuffer |
| Ed | B | Fire | Supporter |
| Nadia | C | Water | Debuffer |
S-Tier Assist Partners
Check out all the assist partners in this tier:

Hunter K
Hunter K is the best all round Assist Partner in Star Sailors. He boosts ATK for one ally or the entire team, restores SP so everyone reaches their Ultimates faster, and hands out DEF, RES and Crit Rate RES buffs on top. There is no team he does not make better.

Iris
Iris buffs the team’s critical damage and builds Brooch stacks that get stronger the longer a fight lasts. That makes her a menace in boss battles, especially next to crit hungry attackers like Nina and Carat. Her value drops if your team has no real crit focused damage dealer.

Gerbil
Gerbil is the engine of Light teams. She makes enemies take more damage, lowers their RES and generates Chain Bonus stacks to keep combos rolling, which makes her excellent against bosses. Her impact depends on those debuffs actually landing, so give her some Accuracy when you build her.
A-Tier Assist Partners
Check out all the assist partners in this tier:

Remi the Rolling Pop
The summer version of Remi, handed out free through the Summer check in event. She protects the frontline with a barricade and buffs the whole team’s DEF, which makes her one of the best F2P friendly Assists in the game.

Dora
The strongest pure healer among the Assists. Big team heals, emergency heals for low HP allies and a team ATK buff on her Ultimate. Some players rate her S tier for sustain heavy teams.

Nutty
Stacks a debuff that makes enemies take more damage, then generates Chain Bonus and SP whenever debuffs land. A great budget alternative to Gerbil.

Jerry
Copies part of an ally’s Additional DMG and adds AoE hits with chain boosts. His best partner is Nina in Earth teams.

Mui
Raises the team’s max HP, cleanses debuffs and reduces incoming damage. The glue that holds Wind teams together.

Sion
Gives the team a massive Chain Mastery boost and restores SP during chain hits. Perfect for aggressive teams that already build Chain Count quickly.
B-Tier Assist Partners
Check out all the assist partners in this tier:

Simo
Keeps lowering enemy DEF and RES. Useful in Wind teams, but that is pretty much all Simo does.

Caroline
Removes enemy buffs and weakens their attacks. She is a free unit and shines more in PvP or against buff heavy enemies than in regular PvE, where she mostly supports Heidi teams.

Ed
A Fire Supporter who heals, cleanses and boosts Additional DMG. Handy filler for Fire teams until you pull Hunter K or Dora.
C-Tier Assist Partners
Check out all the assist partners in this tier:

Nadia
Her Brush Trace debuff slowly raises enemy damage taken, but it needs several stacks before it matters. Every Assist above her does more.
Factors Taken Into Consideration for this Star Sailors Tier List
A few systems decide who rises to the top. Keep these in mind and the rankings will make a lot more sense.
- Elements: Fire beats Wind, Wind beats Earth, Earth beats Water and Water beats Fire. Light and Dark counter each other. Attacking with the advantaged element deals 30% extra damage.
- Chain Count: Every advantaged hit builds your Chain Count, which boosts the damage of your advantaged attacks. Multi hit skills and Chain Bonus buffs push it up fast, which is why chain boosting Assist Partners rank so well.
- Burst and Break: Advantaged hits lower an enemy’s Burst Count. Bosses also carry a Break Gauge, and emptying it neutralizes them for two turns while they take extra damage. That is your window to unload every Ultimate you have.
- SP and Overdrive: Basic attacks generate 1 to 2 SP and skills spend it. Once the Overdrive gauge fills, you can refill a big chunk of SP for the whole team. Partners who restore SP, like Hunter K, Nutty, Sion and Rak, quietly speed up every fight.
- Time Traits: Each character is Daylight, Midnight or Twilight. Matching the stage’s trait boosts their ATK, DEF and HP when the battle starts.
Best Monster Partners in Star Sailors
Monsters rarely make it into a Star Sailors tier list, but the good ones hand free stats to your entire team. Each Monster gives a Blessing at the start of battle plus a Monster Skill with limited uses.

| Tier | Monster | Why It Stands Out |
| S+ | Primal Tan | Raises the team’s Crit Rate and deals solid damage |
| S | Plateau’s Earth God Hakan | Grants Crit Rate RES and makes enemies more vulnerable to crits |
| S | Archer of Repose Rowena | Gives allies 10% ATK plus an increased damage buff |
| S | Mr. Jaws, Forest Guardian Yaren | High value picks that fit most teams |
| A | Dreaming Forest Enforcer, Silver Tail Jaws | Good fillers until you land an S tier Monster |
The common Mermrauder, Ashmane and Dreaming Forest grunts sit at the bottom. Swap them out as soon as you can.
Best Adventurer Class in Star Sailors
Your Adventurer starts as a Swordsman and unlocks new classes as you progress, and you can switch between them to suit the team. Here is how the options stack up.
| Class | Tier | Role | Why Pick It |
| Highlander | S | Attacker | The best endgame damage class. Raises every ally’s Fire DMG and hits twice with Break |
| Sage | S | Supporter | ATK and DEF buffs, healing, damage reduction and Invincibility for the team |
| Paladin | A | Defender | Team shields plus Light DMG and Dark RES buffs, ideal for Light teams |
| Warrior | B | Attacker | Stepping stone to Highlander with extra Fire damage tools |
| Enchanter | B | Supporter | Stepping stone to Sage and still a solid support |
| Cleric | B | Defender | Stepping stone to Paladin with Shield of Light |
| Swordsman | C | Attacker | The starting class. Move on once you unlock the others |
Driffle Tip: Run Highlander in Fire teams, Sage when your Battle Partners need protection or buffs, and Paladin in Light teams.

How Team Building Works in Star Sailors?
Every team in Star Sailors has six slots, but only three units ever stand on the battlefield. The game comes from the Com2uS group, the same family behind Summoners War, so if you have played that one, the elemental matchups here will feel familiar.
| Slot | Count | What It Does |
| Adventurer | 1 | Your main character. Always on the field and the only unit with a Break Skill. |
| Battle Partner | 2 | Fights on the field next to the Adventurer. You choose their skills every turn. |
| Assist Partner | 2 | Stays off the field, casts skills automatically and lends part of their stats to the active team. |
| Monster | 1 | Gives a Blessing bonus at the start of battle and a Monster Skill you can use a limited number of times. |
Best Star Sailors Team Comps
A Star Sailors tier list only tells you who is strong. These team comps show who is strong together.
| Team | Adventurer | Battle Partners | Assist Partners | Why It Works |
| Inferno Fire | Highlander | Heidi, Jen | Caroline, Ed | Heidi melts waves, Jen keeps her alive and both Assists feed her debuffs and Fire buffs |
| Earth Boss Killer | Sage | Nina, Nadia the Sand Artist | Hunter K, Jerry | Nadia lowers Crit Rate RES, Nina crits through it and Hunter K pumps ATK |
| Blessed Light | Paladin | Ethan, Kaira | Iris, Gerbil | Kaira buffs and heals, Gerbil amplifies damage and Iris scales in long fights |
| Budget Wind | Paladin | Carat, any Defender | Mui, Simo | Carat’s burst backed by Mui’s sustain and Simo’s shredding, all from 2 Star partners |
| F2P Starter | Swordsman | Soul, Remi | Caroline, Dora | An easy early chapter team built from units almost everyone owns |
Driffle Tip: Nutty can replace Jerry in the Earth team, and Enchanter works in place of Sage or Paladin. If you own Hunter K, try him in any of these. He genuinely fits everywhere.
