Outerplane has grown past 120 heroes, and with the game now on Steam alongside iOS and Android, a lot of new Masters are staring at the summon screen wondering who is actually worth their Ether. In our Outerplane tier list, we have created separate character rankings for PvE and PvP game modes. This is done primarily because the goals of each mode are different, characters perform differently in each content. Check out the complete tier list below!

What Each Tier Means Here?
Each separate tier in this list indicates a separate meaning. While yes, the higher the tier, the stronger the character rule is viable, other factors were also taken into account while making this. You can find the detailed breakdown of each of the

S-Tier Characters

Demiurge Luna (Light Mage, Premium limited)
Luna swaps between two forms with Abraxas, which also gives her an extra turn. In White Night form, her ultimate hits one target hard, ignores 30% Defense and grants Invulnerability when she has elemental advantage. In Polar Night form, it hits every enemy while cutting her cooldowns and raising her Priority. She handles bosses and waves equally well and is S tier in PvP too.
Mystic Sage Ame (Light Ranger, Seasonal limited)
Her basic attack Repent! deals fixed damage based on the target’s Max Health and gets stronger every time she uses it. Time of Enlightenment pushes every ally’s Priority forward, makes her Immortal and switches on Mandala, which shreds enemy Defense with each hit. Sacred Paw then drains enemy Action Points, hits everyone and gives her an extra turn. She reaches S tier at 5★.
Midnight Rush Skadi (Fire Striker, Festival limited)
Her passive Sweetie Driver makes every attack land with elemental advantage, halves the damage she takes from damage over time effects and blocks Silence and Priority reduction. Right before her ultimate Catch Me If You Can, she gains Rush, which doubles the skill’s damage and hits bosses even harder. She is shockingly tanky for a damage dealer and reaches S tier at 5★.
Ryu Lion (Earth Ranger, DanMachi collab)
Surge ignores 30% Defense and can cut the cooldown of Luminous Wind, which pushes the whole team’s Priority forward and gives your strongest attacker an extra boost on boss hits or kills. Her passive turns Speed into bonus damage. Collab heroes are the least likely to return, and she cannot share a team with another limited Ranger like Heatwave Cop Delta.
Heatwave Cop Delta (Earth Ranger, Seasonal limited)
Think of her as a summer version of Ryu Lion’s playstyle. Her passive Freeze! raises all allies’ damage by 30% and scales her own hits with Speed. Delta Wave! ignores 30% Defense and stacks Attack against bosses, while Ride or Die pushes the entire team’s Priority and buffs Earth allies’ Attack. The same rule applies here, so no pairing her with Ryu Lion.
Demiurge Astei (Dark Mage, Premium limited)
The People on Earth brings her back to life when she falls, but she needs to land a kill quickly or she drops again. While revived, her basic attack gets an enhanced version. Her ultimate Sanctuary for All hits all enemies, ignores 30% Defense and gets stronger as enemies fall. She only reaches S tier at 6★ and sits in A tier below that.
Poolside Trickster Regina (Water Striker, Seasonal limited)
Surprise Sand Castle steals every buff from her target and speeds her up, and she gains extra Attack when the whole team is Water. Sparkling Water Bomb hits all enemies, can grant extra turns on kills and stops enemies from being revived. Grand Summer Escape ignores 30% Defense and wipes the target’s unique resources. She is the star of any mono Water team.
Kitsune of Eternity Tamamo-no-Mae (Earth Mage, Seasonal limited)
The Curse queen of Outerplane. Kitsunebi and Bite ‘Em, Kitsu! stack irremovable Curse, and her ultimate All Ties Are But Dreams curses everyone again before detonating every Curse stack and cutting 80 Action Points from each target. Drakhan and Marian feed her even more stacks.
Maxwell (Dark Mage, Free)
The best free AoE nuker in the game. Every skill hits all enemies, and his damage goes up as fewer targets remain. Ray of Destruction and Mana Converter build Revelation of Truth stacks, which he spends on Bless All Mages, an AoE that pierces 30% Defense. You get him for free on the first clear of the story dungeon he appears in.
Ame (Earth Mage, Free)
Her ultimate Mikazuki 3rd Art: Flower Charm always grants an extra turn and switches her stance. In Sakura stance, her basic attack hits every enemy with guaranteed elemental advantage. In Ume stance, it hits one enemy and speeds her up. Her passive adds 15% Crit Chance and bonus boss damage, and she is the best of the Start Dash picks.
Drakhan (Light Striker, Free)
Dragon Tusk and Burning Fist inflict Curse that ignores Resilience, and her damage rises with every debuff on the target. Conquering Dragon Meteor Fist hits even harder for each buff and debuff the enemy carries. Burning Fist also avoids triggering counters. She comes free in the Light starter pack.
Bell Cranel (Fire Mage, DanMachi collab)
A pure Burn engine. Swift Chain burns the target, Hestia’s Cheer passively raises his Attack and Argo Vesta hits all enemies while stacking irremovable Burn twice. Even his chain and dual attacks add Burn that ignores Resilience. He anchors Fire and Burn teams with Vlada, Maxie and Ember.
Holy Night’s Blessing Dianne (Fire Ranger, Seasonal limited)
Gift Shower hands her a random stat buff at the start of every turn, and Winter Night’s Blessing hits all enemies while showering your team with buffs. Her damage scales with Speed and the number of buffs on your allies, and Santa’s Here! keeps pushing her Priority. She reaches S tier at 5★ and shifts from a support into a full damage dealer at 6★.
Resonance Rin (Water Striker)
The awakened Resonance form of Rin. Moonfall raises all allies’ Crit Damage and stacks up to three times. Ittō Zangetsu hits all enemies, resets its own cooldown while she holds a buff and stacks her Attack. The One True Path of the Sword boosts her Penetration, hits everyone and then raises her Priority by 100% so she acts again fast. She needs 6★ to reach S tier.
Titia (Fire Mage)
A boss killer who also lifts the whole team. Perfect Rebuttal lowers Defense while ignoring Resilience, Incisive Reasoning raises every ally’s Penetration and Closing Argument stacks a Damage Reduction debuff up to five times while ignoring 30% Defense on bosses. With four Fire heroes on the team, her ultimate also cuts every ally’s cooldowns by one turn.
Gnosis Nella (Light Mage, Festival limited)
A control monster whose damage scales off Max Health. Rules of Salvation hits all enemies, inflicts irremovable Unbuffable and pushes their skill cooldowns back by two turns. Her ultimate I Am the Sole Perfection is tied to her Final Brand passive and strips a buff from everyone before hitting all enemies with a chance to Stun. She is S tier in PvP as well.
Valentine (Fire Ranger, Free)
Still the easiest recommendation in the game. Lucky or Die gives the whole team Crit Chance and Crit Damage, adds Attack to Fire allies and grants her an extra turn. Trigger Happy pushes your strongest attacker’s Priority, and My Bloody Valentine knocks back every enemy’s Priority, even more against Earth. New players can grab her with a 3★ Hero Selection Ticket.
Tamara (Water Ranger)
A crit buffer who also debuffs. Smoke Screen gives the team Crit Chance and can Silence on a crit. Maximum Range Fire lowers Defense on all enemies and can push their cooldowns back when it crits. Fire and Reposition calls in a dual attack from your top attacker on crits. She needs good stats and max skills to shine.
Skadi (Light Ranger)
Easy to build and useful almost everywhere. Her second skill gives the team Crit Chance and Crit Damage, and her basic attack adds Attack to your strongest ally. Voltaic Arrowstorm raises Resilience and Effectiveness for all allies and can cut everyone else’s cooldowns. Max skill upgrades make a big difference.
Akari (Light Ranger, Free)
A debuff specialist from the Light starter pack. Barrier of Ryouran extends enemy debuffs and lowers Resilience on anyone not yet debuffed. Juzumaru Tsunetsugu can inflict Unbuffable and Defense Down on all enemies and avoids triggering counters and revenge attacks. Her chain attack also raises team Attack.
Luna (Water Defender)
An offensive Defender who keeps the team clean. Hero’s Emergence removes debuffs from all allies and gives everyone a Barrier based on her Max Health. Moonlight Slash gets an extra hit while she holds a Barrier and can call in a dual attack from your top attacker. Someday I Will Reach the Moon hits all enemies with a chance to apply Unbuffable.
Monad Eva (Light Healer, Premium limited)
Ticking Clockwork heals your lowest Health ally and always triggers a dual attack from your top attacker. Time Dilation makes her immune to Freeze and Silence, and whenever an ally gets debuffed she reacts instantly, shortening every debuff on the team and sealing enemy extra skills. Dreaming of You heals everyone and raises Speed. She reaches S tier at 5★, which also unlocks her double dual attack.
Nella (Dark Healer, Free)
The Coronation pushes surviving allies forward, revives every fallen ally, heals the team and grants Immunity. Oath of Darkness reacts whenever she is hit, healing all allies and boosting their Action Points. Her one weak spot is that she cannot cleanse debuffs, only prevent them. She comes in the Dark starter pack and is S tier in PvP too.
Dianne (Light Healer, Free)
Sustain with speed. I’m Not Letting You Go ♡ hits all enemies, heals the team and pushes her Priority for every enemy hit. Blessed Wedding Road clears all debuffs, grants Immunity and heals everyone. Her basic attack speeds up your top attacker, and she is the healer in the Light starter pack.
Demiurge Drakhan (Light Defender, Premium limited)
One of the best team protectors in the game. Doom Heralding Cry gives her Show Your Loyalty, which lets her soak 35% of the damage your allies take, then shields every other ally and raises team Penetration and Defense. Her attacks scale off Max Health, and Dragon Ruler’s Breath ignores 30% Defense and stops enemies from being revived.
A-Tier Characters

Gnosis Domine (Dark Mage, Premium limited)
Domine’s damage scales off Defense. Her passive Will of the Shattered World stacks Defense on every enemy turn and damage on every ally turn, while its active part pushes your team forward and pulls enemies back. Return to Origin deals fixed damage based on Max Health to all enemies, ignores 30% Defense and transfers all their buffs. She needs a few turns to ramp up but is S tier in PvP.
Gnosis Dahlia (Dark Striker, Festival limited)
A single target burst striker. Her basic attack can trigger an enhanced hit that pushes all allies’ Priority. Untouchable One gives her a Barrier and Priority whenever she is hit, and while Terminal Winter grants her Hubris’s Dominion, no single hit can take more than a set share of her Max Health. A tier from 4★ and S tier in PvP.
Gnosis Viella (Dark Striker, Premium limited)
Surging Domain turns her Poison into Corrosive Poison and boosts her damage against poisoned enemies, and its active part can Stun and push her Priority. Cocoon of Rebirth strips a buff from all enemies, hits everyone and grants an extra turn. All of her damage scales off Max Health. A tier from 4★.
Gnosis Beth (Light Ranger, Premium limited)
An Eternal Bleeding specialist. Painful Rack bleeds every enemy and gives the rest of your team Stealth. Pure Blood’s Punishment first grants Retribution’s Dominion, then on the next use detonates every Eternal Bleeding stack for big damage. Debuff extenders like Akari and Kuro make her much stronger. A tier from 4★.
Demiurge Saeran (Dark Ranger, Premium limited)
One of the most recent Demiurge heroes. When her Health hits zero, Demon Descends turns her into the Demon, restores her to full Health and unleashes an AoE attack. Her ultimate Dominion of Pain raises allies’ Defense and Crit Damage, refills 100 Action Points for everyone, then deals 99% of her own Max Health to herself to trigger the transformation on purpose. A tier from 5★ and S tier in PvP.
Demiurge Stella (Light Striker, Premium limited)
Merciless God makes her immune to Stun, Freeze, Petrify and Priority reduction, lowers the damage she takes from single target attacks and sets up a Revenge counter. Flight of Abraxas hits all enemies, scales with Max Health and instantly defeats non boss enemies at 2% Health or less. The World Is Mine petrifies all enemies. She pairs best with Action Point support like Monad Eva.
Core Fusion Epsilon (Dark Striker)
A Defense scaling fighter whose skills deal 50% more damage while her Defense is raised. Victory Command drains 20 Action Points from all enemies and steals their buffs, and Planetary Purification Protocol wipes all of the target’s Action Points and raises team Crit Damage.
Core Fusion Notia (Earth Ranger)
Blade Dance of Judgment fires Crystal Storm automatically whenever your team lands a debuff on its turn, hitting all enemies with Attack Down and Poison. Guardian of the Sanctuary grants Fierce Offensive, which makes her basic attack push the whole team’s Priority.
Core Fusion Lisha (Fire Mage)
The self sufficient Core Fusion upgrade of the 2★ Lisha. Fierce Lightning Storm! raises her Penetration and, once her Crit Damage buff is up, cuts the cooldown of Walpurgis’ Light!, an AoE that ignores extra Defense on Earth enemies. Fully upgrading her takes a big pile of Fusion Cores.
Rey (Earth Striker, Free)
An extra turn machine. Every skill builds Natural Talent, and with enough stacks Faster than Bullets! resets its own cooldown. Rey deals bonus damage to Water and Healer enemies, stops them from being revived after a kill and hits Irregular bosses hard. Rey is also one of the Start Dash picks.
Regina (Light Mage)
A crit scaling mage whose damage climbs with her Crit Chance. Her passive It’s Checkmate! builds layers of Regina’s World and shortens her ultimate’s cooldown whenever an enemy attack misses. The Show Must Go On dispels every buff on the target and ignores 30% Defense.
Roxie (Water Mage)
One half of the twin duo with Maxie. Help Me, Sis! fires a free attack whenever an ally Ranger attacks, then pushes her Priority and raises Effectiveness for Mages and Rangers. Twin Tornado! shocks all enemies, always has elemental advantage and hits harder for each debuff on the target.
Maxie (Fire Ranger)
The other twin. Together as One fires a bonus attack whenever an ally Mage attacks and feeds Action Points to Mages and Rangers. Little Sister Attack! burns all enemies twice and raises her Attack and Penetration. She fits twin teams with Roxie or Notia and Burn teams alike, and reaches A tier at 5★.
Caren (Water Striker)
A Defense scaling cleaner. Disassembly Analysis pushes her Priority after attacks and kills, and whenever an ally uses an AoE attack, she steals buffs from the enemy with the highest Max Health and attacks. Final Cleanup ignores 30% Defense, or all of it against Irregular monsters, where it also cuts her cooldowns by two turns.
Kanon (Fire Striker)
Another Defense scaler, built like a brick wall. Are You Strong?! triggers whenever any ally lands or takes a critical hit and strikes the enemy with the highest Attack. Ascending Diamond Fist raises her Defense and resets Are You Strong?! on kills. She is a strong PvP pick as well.
Eris (Fire Striker)
Her damage rises by 20% for every debuff on the target. You’re Fired! burns the fastest enemy at the start of battle while ignoring Resilience. Ruthless Performance Review applies Burn and Bleeding first, ignores 30% Defense on bosses and grants an extra turn against Irregular monsters.
Vlada (Fire Striker, Free)
A Burn detonator and wave clearer. Apocalypse Now burns all enemies twice while ignoring Resilience and resets its cooldown whenever an enemy dies. Paths of Glory detonates every Burn stack with 50% extra damage, plus 20% more against Earth. Vlada is one of the Start Dash picks.
Aer (Fire Striker, Free)
To the Beach? strips every buff from the target while ignoring Resilience. Gone Surfing! hits harder against buffed enemies and grants an extra turn if the target has no buffs left or dies. She deals bonus damage to Earth bosses but only hits one target at a time.
Beth (Water Striker, Free)
A Bleed and fixed damage striker. Beware the Scissor Girl and A Present for You! add fixed damage based on Max Health against Bleeding targets, and her ultimate hits much harder while her Penetration is raised. She needs Bleed support from heroes like Eliza, Francesca or Fortuna.
Marian (Water Mage, 2★)
The best budget pick for Curse teams. Excuse Me! and Let Me Serve You Tea! apply Curse, while Welcome! lowers Defense. She feeds extra Curse stacks to Kitsune of Eternity Tamamo-no-Mae and Drakhan.
Monad Iota (Dark Ranger, Premium limited)
The engine of Dark teams. Eradicate Creation calls in dual attacks, which deal 50% more damage when a Dark ally performs them. Descent of the Solar Deity raises Dark allies’ Penetration along with the team’s Crit Damage and Priority. Code Ra spends Black Sun stacks to lower every enemy’s Defense and hit them all. A tier from 5★ and S tier in PvP.
Demiurge Vlada (Dark Ranger, Premium limited)
A buff breaker. Destruction Blade dispels all buffs from all enemies, hits harder as fewer enemies remain and can apply Unhealable. Crush Gear adds 50% damage against bosses and fires a bonus AoE whenever she uses an attack that targets all enemies. She loves Action Point support from Nella, Monad Eva or Demiurge Delta. A tier from 5★.
Summer Knight’s Dream Ember (Water Defender, Seasonal limited)
Master, Spike! reduces damage taken by all allies, and if she is your only Defender, no single hit can deal more than a set portion of her Max Health. Sudden Strike! deals fixed damage, hits all enemies, pushes your team’s Priority and adds extra fixed damage to bosses. She is S tier in PvP.
Iota (Dark Mage, Free)
Iota trades Health for power. Code Medjed costs Health, hits all enemies and pushes back their Priority, with damage growing as Iota’s Health drops. Code Anubis grants Immortality and can Stun enemies. Iota comes in the Dark starter pack and is a great PvP pick.
Charlotte (Earth Ranger)
A Mage team buffer. Thinking Time triggers whenever an ally uses an AoE attack, raising team Attack and pushing ally Mages forward. The Culprit is You! raises team Crit Damage.
Fran (Earth Ranger)
Dopamine Boost raises Speed and Effectiveness for the whole team, and Hidden Event grants every ally Counterattack and a Barrier while wiping the target’s unique resources.
Mero (Fire Ranger)
Chainsaw Girl gives the team Lifesteal and comes back faster whenever Mero is healed. Mirsha Massacre raises team Attack and can grant her Counterattack and Immortality. Her basic attack also calls in dual attacks.
Fortuna (Water Mage)
A Water team enabler. Virtus’s Due raises Penetration for Water allies, slows the target and can apply Unhealable. Fate of the Traitor lowers Defense and can Freeze and Bleed a slowed target.
Ember (Fire Defender)
The Burn amplifier. Blaze Like a Flame! grants Radiant Will, which boosts the Burn damage of all allies, and her passive Burning Injustice makes enemies take more damage for each debuff and can burn every enemy when she is hit. She is a must for Burn teams and not much else.
Tamamo-no-Mae (Fire Mage)
A Max Health scaling debuffer. Nirvana’s Inferno counterattacks whenever an ally is hit, stripping buffs and lowering Resilience. Eternal Enlightenment hits all enemies, heals your team over time, restores Chain Points and delays boss cooldowns by a turn.
Eternal (Fire Mage, Free)
A dedicated Earth killer. Fool’s Paradise strips buffs and burns, and it never misses Earth targets. No One Lives Forever lowers the Defense and Speed of all enemies and applies Unhealable. She needs max skills to land her debuffs consistently.
Core Fusion Eternal (Fire Mage)
The upgraded Eternal and one of the best debuffers around. Death Sentence lowers all enemies’ Defense and Speed, applies Unhealable and knocks back an enemy’s Priority. She needs heavy investment, including higher Core Fusion levels and a +10 EE, to reach her full potential.
Stella (Light Ranger, Free)
Steely Oath makes her immune to Stun, Freeze and Petrify and fires a Revenge attack on all enemies every cooldown cycle. Unforgivable Sinner steals the target’s buffs and ignores 30% Defense, and her damage scales with Speed. You can farm her from the Friendship Point Shop.
Primine (Water Healer)
Bestow Mercy reacts whenever she is hit, healing all allies, pushing their Priority and Freezing the enemy with the highest Attack. Divine Retribution heals, cleanses, grants Immunity and a Barrier, then Silences all enemies. Her basic attack also calls in a dual attack.
Liselotte (Fire Healer)
Blessing of the Stars gives all allies a Barrier and Defense Up whenever an ally uses an AoE attack. Astra Luminous clears all debuffs, heals the team and cuts every ally’s cooldowns by one turn.
Astei (Fire Healer)
The Stars in Heaven often chains straight into The Flowers on Earth, an AoE heal that also generates Action Points. The Love in Our Hearts heals, grants Immunity and lowers enemy Crit Chance. She has no revive, which keeps her out of S tier.
Viella (Earth Healer)
Frail but Deadly counterattacks when she is hit, poisoning all enemies, healing the team and granting Barriers. Pain is Truth clears debuffs, grants Immunity, heals and pushes Earth allies forward.
Demiurge Delta (Dark Healer, Premium limited)
Code: Reverse heals the team, grants Revival and gives Ether Boost to your strongest attacker. Code: Icarus removes two debuffs from one ally, heals them and pushes their Priority. She needs 6★ to reach A tier in PvE but is S tier in PvP.
Tio (Fire Healer, 2★)
A budget cleanser. Basic First Aid reacts whenever an ally gets debuffed, removing debuffs from the whole team and healing them. Her basic attack also puts a Barrier on your lowest Health ally.
Veronica (Water Defender)
Commander’s Resolve cleanses her own debuffs every turn and gives your lowest Health ally a Barrier. Battlefield Commander can Taunt and calls in dual attacks while her Defense is raised. Endurance Cannon raises team Defense and strips enemy buffs.
Core Fusion Veronica (Water Defender)
The upgraded Veronica. Sword Destroyer cleanses both her and your lowest Health ally every turn, adds a Barrier and fires again when she is hit. Guardian Sword of the Kingdom strips buffs while ignoring Resilience, raises team Defense and ignores 30% Defense on bosses.
Anarky (Light Defender)
Uncontainable Inspiration cuts all enemies’ Penetration by 20% and stacks Barriers and Defense on your team. Love & Freedom Taunts all enemies while ignoring Resilience, then gives your team Barriers, Counterattack and a Priority push. Anarky’s damage scales off Defense.
Hilde (Dark Defender, Free)
An anti AoE tank. Come Here, Hound makes her immune to Stun, reduces the AoE damage your team takes and redirects part of it to her, then counterattacks when she is hit. For Pandemonium! shortens the target’s buffs. She comes in the Dark starter pack.
Omega Nadja (Dark Defender, Festival limited)

Where Does Resonance Eliza Rank in Outerplane?
Resonance Eliza is the newest hero in the game and the first Resonance hero with her own pickup banner. Her rank is TBA for now, since there has not been enough time to test her properly across content.
Her kit is built entirely around Bleed. Heart Harvest bleeds the target and strips a buff, Blood Levy makes her immune to Silence and grants her True Pureblood’s Dominion, and Blood Communion Stuns every enemy before detonating all their Bleeding with 150% extra detonation damage. That looks like a big upgrade for Bleed teams built around Gnosis Beth, Beth and Francesca, and this list will be updated once her placement settles.

Character rankings in this tier list mainly focus on PvE, since that is where most of your stamina and upgrade materials go. Help was taken from community databases and rankings, then cross checked against each hero’s current in game skills. The core factors shaping up this list are:
- Transcendence: Heroes are ranked at 6★, the max star level. A few limited heroes drop a tier at lower stars, and they are covered in the Transcendence section further down.
- Exclusive Equipment (EE): The PvE rankings assume the hero has their EE unlocked at level 0. The PvP rankings assume 6★ and a +10 EE.
- Priority: You will see this word a lot. Priority is your turn gauge, so raising it makes a hero act sooner and lowering an enemy’s Priority delays their turn.
