What are Grow a Garden Mutations?
In simple terms, Grow a Garden mutations are visual and monetary changes to your crops. These changes significantly increase the amount of Sheckles (in-game currency) that is earned when selling the crops. Players can trigger new crop mutations in Grow a Garden through several ways such as weather, admin events, rain, pets, night time, and much more. It’s a relatively new mechanic but very important if you want your crops to be more profitable over time.

How can Grow a Garden Mutations help?
Mutations help you fetch more value for your crops in Grow a Garden. Consider these mutations as significant visual changes that change the appearance of your crops. On top of it, mutations increase the Sheckles multiplier values of your crops that helps you earn more when you sell them.

For example, if your crops base price is 10 shekels, and you triggered a Gold mutation for it, then it’s price will surge to 200 (20x profits). Similarly, if you triggered a Shocked mutation, then the price of that crop will increase to 1000 Sheckles (100x profits).

Grow a Garden Pollinated Mutation
In Grow a Garden, the Pollinated Mutation occurs when you participate in the Bee Swarm event. You can also trigger it by using a Bee pet that pollinates on your crops. The Pollinated mutation helps you increase the value of your crops by 3x. Hence, you can earn thrice the profit when selling them. When a crop is mutated via pollination, its visual appearance changes. You can see some golden flakes appear on top of them.

Grow a Garden Zombified Mutation
In Grow a Garden, the Zombified Mutation occurs when you own a Chicken Zombie pet. This pet has a 20% chance to zombify any crop near it every 30 minutes. Once the crop is zombified, a Zombified mutation triggers, enhancing its value by 25x. With such a huge multiplier, and relatively easy conditions, the Zombified mutation crops sell quickly with large profits. Once a crop is zombified, you can see some sickly green-colored substance oozing out of them.

Grow a Garden Moonlit Mutation
In Grow a Garden, the Moonlit Mutation occurs during the night time cycle of the game. This mutation only affects a certain number of crops, so you need to be a little lucky in order to get them. But, with the ample amount of night time given, you can easily obtain it. The Moonit mutation increases the value of your crops by 2x, doubling it essentially. This mutation is not that sought-after but remains to be a great way of boosting your Sheckles income.

Grow a Garden Plasma Mutation
In Grow a Garden, the Plasma Mutation occurs when you participate in the Laser Storm event. This event is usually triggered by the admin themselves, and players cannot get this mutation outside of the event. Under Plasma mutation, your crops start to emit a sparkly purple aura that glows in the dark. They look devilishly beautiful to look at. Plasma mutation also boosts the value of your crops by 5x, making it much more desirable.

Grow a Garden Void Touched Mutation
In Grow a Garden, the Void Touched Mutation occurs when you participate in the Black Hole event. Again, this event can only be triggered by the admins, so it’s a limited-time opportunity. The good thing is that the Black Hole event repeats itself, so make sure to look out for it the next time you want a Void Touched mutation.

The Void Touched mutation changes the appearance of the crops by making them slightly duller but adding onto them a black-purple hollow disc that resembles a black hole. It looks something like straight out of a dark-romance/thriller movie. Void Touched mutated crops get their values increased by 135x! That’s the largest crop mutation multiplier, and thus, this mutation is widely considered as the best.
How to Trigger Grow a Garden Mutations?
In Grow a Garden, mutations are triggered via specific events or during certain times of the day. These mutations are caused by a variety of factors, each of which we have mentioned below in detail:
- Weather – The in-game weather conditions like rain, snow (frost), or lightning (thunderstorm) can trigger certain crop mutations like Wet, Chilled, and Shocked.
- Time Cycles – The nighttime can also help in triggering certain crop mutations. In the night, you can get Moonlit mutation. Similarly, during Blood Moon, you can get the Bloodlit mutation.
- Random – Some crop mutations like Golden and Rainbow occur randomly at a very miniscule chance. Golden mutations happen with 1% chance, and Rainbow mutations can occur with a 0.1% chance.
- Pets – Certain Grow a Garden Pets can also help you trigger mutations like Gold and Rainbow with their applied effects.
- In-game Events – The developers events also help in triggering crop mutations like Void Touched, Disco, or Celestial mutation.
