Product description

A Story About My Uncle (Global) (PC / Mac / Linux) - Steam - Digital Key

An adventure Game titled A Story About My Uncle uses features in the first-person setting with a universe of moving rocks. The gamer is seeking Uncle Fred.

A Story About My Uncle centres on the narrator's uncle Fred as the narrator reads a bedtime story to a young child. A clever scientist who is "a quirky and even-tempered Uncle Quentin from the Famous Five books," according to the description of uncle Fred. A sign in the narrator's abandoned home informs the player that Fred constructed a trash disposal system that might have been run by starlight. A Story About My Uncle starts with the narrator as a child going into the "waste disposal dimension" to look for his uncle after this backstory.

Development

According to Sebastian Eriksson, co-founder of Gone North Games and one of the company's programmers, the earliest concepts for the Game "essentially involved toying with gravity in the universe — you would turn it upside down." Based on Eriksson's "playing around with a mechanic to propel yourself within this gravity-bending Game," the core game mechanic became the Game's focal point. Due to their lack of expertise in the Video Game industry, the students who created A Story About My Uncle had to "teach themselves how to utilize Game creation software," Unreal Engine.

A Story About My Uncle was developed by Södertörn University students who were instructed to create a "nonviolent first-person Game on the Unreal Engine" for a competition. The students founded Gone North Games, a video Game development company. In ten weeks, they created a prototype and learned how to operate the engine, according to Sebastian Zethraeus; he claimed that they "were proud of it at the time, but our eyes bleed today when we look at it."

A Story About My Uncle's gameplay heavily emphasizes movement, with the player swinging through the world with a grappling hook to give them a tremendous sense of speed and freedom. Fly through a video Game universe with a distinctive art style and a suspenseful plot that is revealed to you.

Key attributes :

  • Fighting hook : a motivating mechanic that offers you a never-before-seen sense of speed, fluidity, and dizziness.
  • Discover the globe : Discover a magnificent and thrilling world filled with mysterious landscapes, lost civilizations, and paradisal caves.
  • Emphasis on story : As you look for your uncle, you will come across creatures who have their own stories and destinies. To dive more deeply into the story, take your time exploring the world.
  • Nonviolent : Although A Story About My Uncle is a First-Person Game, it emphasizes story and ambience more than gameplay and is driven by nonviolent gameplay.
