The ESS Meridian spaceship is on its way to Tau Ceti f, the first planet in human history to be inhabited, using new FTL technology to travel through space. A few months later, a top-tier Unit 13 member awakens from a cryogenic nap. However, Tau Ceti f is nowhere to be found, and a severe problem exists. What became of all those individuals? Why do they assault without any sign of survival instinct?

Plot

Dead Effect is a scientific thriller-based Game set in 2045, which takes us on the Journey of Jane Grey, who is on the spaceship ESS Meridian where all the crew has turned into Zombies due to some virus. She meets Dr Wagner, who reveals that she is a part of the "Dead Effect" experiment; they are not on a spaceship at all but rather on a sizable orbital research facility, and there was no unintentional zombie outbreak; instead, the entire experiment was a component of Wagner's research into creating mutagens to boost combat stamina (collectable log files clarify that Dr Wagner is delusional and that the ESS Meridian was a colony ship; Dr Wagner deliberately mutated the crew and converted the ship into a combat testing ground for his experiments).

He informs Grey that she did very well and that her test results will be saved for later research. He uses a medi-bed to try to kill her, but Grey manages to escape and swears to find and kill him.

She makes her way out of the lab and seeks Dr Wagner, who has turned into a zombie-like creature with electrical abilities after using a virus on himself. She locates him in the station's centre and kills him.
