Gone Home (Global) (PC) - Steam - Digital Key

The 1995 setting of Gone Home casts the player as a young woman who has just returned from a trip abroad to her family's rural Oregon home. She discovers that her family is currently away and the house is deserted, allowing her to piece together previous occurrences. Gone Home doesn't have a lot of interactive elements; instead, it lets the player wander the house at their own speed and piece together what happened by looking at objects, journals, and other artefacts scattered throughout the several rooms. Having previously worked on BioShock 2: Minerva's Den, the Fullbright team, borrowed ideas and concepts from that title to create an exploration game that would encourage the player to learn the story through non-linear progression while exploring the Home while keeping the project manageable for their small team.

After a year overseas, you return home. The house is empty, but you anticipate being welcomed by your family. Something is wrong. Who is present where? And what's going on here? Play The Fullbright Company's narrative exploration game Gone Home to solve the puzzle yourself.

An engaging exploration simulator called Gone Home. Examine every aspect of a seemingly ordinary house to learn the history of the residents. Any drawer or door can be opened. To find hints, pick up and study objects. Investigate the items left behind to learn more about one family's life events.

Key Features

A Personal Story: Gone Home delivers the deep, nuanced details of one family's attempts to deal with uncertainty, heartache, and change. Veterans wrote it for the BioShock series and the story team behind Minerva's Den.

An Immersive Place: Travel back to the 1990s by visiting a house where every little detail has been painstakingly restored and where the sounds of an oncoming downpour completely immerse you in the setting.

No Combat, No Puzzles: Gone Home invites you to play at your speed without worrying about being attacked, stranded, or frustrated. It is a nonviolent and puzzle-free game. This house invites you to look around.

Gameplay

In the first-person perspective, the player assumes the character of Katie, who can move about the house and view and interact with objects. The objectives of the game are not set, but the player is rewarded and encouraged to explore new parts of the house and look for new messages. Looking at things and notes around the house is how much interaction takes place. The player must locate specific items that open doors to different areas of the house to advance in the game.
