Armello is a turn-based Strategy Board Game developed and published by League of Geeks in 2015.
Start playing Armello today!
A unique role-playing system, complex strategy from tabletop board games, and sophisticated tactics from card games are all blended in Armello, a vast swashbuckling adventure.
As a hero from one of Armello's clans, you'll embark on quests, plot, recruit agents, explore, slay monsters, cast spells, and engage in combat with other players with the intention of storming the palace and taking the throne as King or Queen of Armello. The Kingdom of Armello is as beautiful as it is deadly; dangers, afflictions, and bandits lurk around every bend, and a growing sickness known as the rot is destroying everything in its path.
In an effort to reinvent digital board and card games while giving players a rich environment to create their own epic adventure tales, League of Geeks has created Armello. The goal was to build a rich game that would be ideal for playing online with friends, full of backstabbing, near calls, broken alliances, tricks, and hollow promises.
Armello is a computerised recreation of a classic fantasy tabletop role-playing game that uses virtual playing cards and dice to let the player perform specified actions. The objective of the game is to storm the castle and usurp the current king or queen of the realm. Up to four players take on the role of Hero characters that each represent an animal clan. Hexagon-shaped tiles that make up the playing field are filled with randomly generated features like dungeons to explore, missions to accomplish, other heroes to face off against, or settlements to seize. As the game continues, players can earn money to upgrade their hero's skills, utilising a talent tree system that is unique to each character.
The Key Features of Armello:
- The fighting mechanism in the game is built around the usage of cards and dice to interact with the game's setting.
- To minimise downtime, the game's turn-based structure allows players to take tasks like equipping goods and buying talents during the turn of another player.
- There is also a day/night cycle in Armello, where certain heroes benefit from the time of day while other opponents only show up in the light or the dark.
- Every hero is best suited for one of the four possible routes to success, yet every hero is capable of achieving every win condition.
- To cast spells, gather followers, cure wounds, or use objects with unique abilities, players use cards they draw from a deck. Additionally, cards may be used to create temporary alliances or as "Perils" that can be placed on specified tiles to serve as traps for other heroes or be employed right away in battle.
The DLC pack available for Armello are:
- Armello - The Dragon Clan
- Armello - Usurpers Hero Pack
