FATAL FRAME / PROJECT ZERO: Maiden of Black Water Deluxe Edition is a survival horror Game developed and published by Koei Tecmo Games Co., Ltd. The Game is a remastered version of the original Game, released for the Wii U.

The Game is set on the fictional Hikami Mountain, located in Japan. The player takes on the role of three different protagonists: Yuri Kozukata, Ren Hojo, and Miu Hinasaki. These characters are connected through the Camera Obscura, a mystical camera that can capture ghosts and spirits.

Gameplay

Maiden of Black Water Deluxe Edition is a third-person survival horror Game. The action revolves around the Camera Obscura, used to defeat the ghosts and spirits encountered throughout the Game. The camera has different lenses, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, and can be upgraded by using spirit points earned by defeating ghosts.

The Game has many adventures and puzzle-solving components in addition to Camera Obscura. The title is separated into segments focusing on different characters and their stories. It also includes several side quests that may be done to acquire extra stuff and improvements.

Story

The plot centres around the legends and myths surrounding Hikami Mountain. The mountain is said to be the home of the "Mountain Shrine Maiden," a woman who can purify the souls of the dead. However, the shrine maiden has not been seen for many years, and the mountain has become a place of death and darkness.

Yuri Kozukata is a woman searching for her missing friend, Hisoka Kurosawa, who disappeared while investigating the mountain. Ren Hojo is a freelance writer exploring the mountain and its legends. Miu Hinasaki is a high school student sent to the hill to investigate her missing mother, who was also connected to the tales of the mountain.

As the three protagonists explore the mountain, they encounter several ghosts and spirits and uncover the hidden dark secrets within the hill.
