Overview

First-person shooter video game Contagion was created and released for the PC by American independent studio Monochrome. It is Zombie Panic! Source's spirtual successor. The game's development was largely self-funded, but thanks to the help of others and a successful Kickstarter campaign, it was able to be made available on Steam as an Early Access game. The Steam Early Access version of Contagion was released on October 25, 2013, and the full version was released on April 11, 2014.

Three different game modes, including Hunted, Escape, and Extraction, are available in the multiplayer-focused game Contagion. Additionally, the game mode Flatline is available in beta.

A.I.-controlled zombies roam the level and pose a threat to players in the free-for-all "deathmatch" game mode called Hunted, which can accommodate up to 16 people. When a player dies, they resurrect as a zombie and can fight the remaining players alongside the zombies that are controlled by artificial intelligence. Being the final player standing is the objective of the game.
