Gameplay

The player must complete each Level by slaying several demons from beginning to end. There are multiple chapters in the Game, each having several stages. Every class features a unique setting with different themes, such as castles, monasteries, graveyards, and more. The Painkiller, the stake thrower, the shotgun, and the electro drive are among the returnees of old favourites. New weapons are also available, like the Soulcatcher, which has two shooting modes: saw blade in primary firing mode and soul sucking in secondary fire mode.

Several multiplayer modes are added to the Painkiller: Hell & Damnation series. Two players can complete the whole single-player campaign, and the difficulty Level changes depending on how many foes or hit points each player has. Up to eight players compete for survival in the survival mode in a constrained area on one map. Never-ending waves of the adversary will attack the player or players. Deathmatch, team deathmatch, seize the flag, and duels are additional player-versus-player Game variants.

Plot

In the original titles, after defeating the demons of Hell and Purgatory, Daniel Garner was barred from visiting his wife, Catherine. He sat in the graveyard where his journey had started with no more faith. Death herself suddenly came and offered Daniel a new deal: a reconciliation with his wife in exchange for 7,000 souls. Daniel accepts the Soulcatcher rifle with reluctance. He is dispatched to well-known locations where he battles swarms of demon-spawn and once more vanquishes the powerful Necrogiant, Alastor, and Swamp Thing. Eve, a former ally, shows up again during this Quest and warns that Death cannot be trusted, but Daniel isn't blind to the fact that she betrayed him after Painkiller: Battle out of Hell. She tries to convince Daniel that things are not as they seem and that he is so good at killing demons and avoiding their force because he is not actually dead, but he avoids her while she makes her case.
