In the tactical rogue-lite Crying Suns, you play as the commander of a space fleet as you investigate a strangely destroyed empire.

Each successful run in this narrative-rich adventure, which was influenced by Dune and Foundation, will reveal the truth about the Empire—as well as about you.

The Key Features of Crying Sun:

• The grid may have environmental hazards like asteroid fields or automated turrets that limit the agility of fighters. 
• Weapons can be directed against either the battlefield grid or the individual ships. 
• Targeting particular ship subsystems is possible; for instance, taking out the weapons system will render the ship-mounted guns inoperable.
• Exploration of space in a dynamically created cosmos - Battles between battleships and the fleets that make up their squadrons - More than 300 plot events are possible.
• A complex and dramatic plot divided into 6 chapters - Dark and unsettling environment influenced by our favourite science fiction universes (Foundation, Dune, Battlestar Galactica)
• Players engage in pausable real-time combat with other battleships as they travel. The battle's objective is to use fighter squadrons and ship-mounted armaments to destroy the enemy ship. Between the two ships, fighter squadrons move around a hexagonal grid using a rock-paper-scissors design, where fighters are strong against some types but weak against others. 
• Officers, who perform a variety of tasks, are also available to players.

Story:

You are the best Imperial Admiral to ever fight in space and a clone of Admiral Ellys Idaho. Kaliban, the planet's odd and darkly funny Guardian and the last surviving functional OMNI, has just awoken you on this planet.

Your task is to expertly navigate a battleship through the Empire's now violent, chaotic clusters—where one mistake might be your demise—while attempting to reawaken the OMNIs and rescue the future of all humanity. However, you need to escape Gehenna right away because the clock is almost up.

The Galactic Empire has abruptly crumbled into shreds after 700 years of stability and prosperity. The OMNIs, which acted as if they were gods and completed every task for their human owners, mysteriously stopped working. And because humanity has long since lost the ability to survive on its own, it is at grave risk of being extinct. Gehenna, a planet of ice and rock and a top-secret facility that is the pinnacle of Imperial Tech and possibly humanity's last hope, is located someplace in a distant part of the Galaxy.
