Gears of War: E-Day takes players back to the beginning of the Locust invasion, 14 years before the original Gears of War. The story follows a younger Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as they fight to survive Emergence Day in the city of Kalona. Marcus Fenix

Marcus Fenix is the main character of Gears of War: E-Day. The game shows a younger version of Marcus before the events of the original Gears of War. He is already an experienced soldier after fighting in the Pendulum Wars, but Emergence Day puts him in a completely different kind of battle. Marcus becomes one of the four members of Bravo Squad and fights alongside Dom, Mags, and Lucas as the Locust emerge for the first time.

Dominic “Dom” Santiago

Dominic Santiago, better known as Dom, returns alongside Marcus. The two are already close friends when the Locust invasion begins, giving E-Day a chance to show the early years of their famous partnership. Dom is one of the four playable members of Bravo Squad and fights alongside Marcus, Mags, and Lucas throughout the campaign.

Mags Carter

Mags Carter is one of the two new playable characters in Gears of War: E-Day. She is a veteran of the Pendulum Wars and originally comes from Kalona. Before the Locust invasion, Mags works at Kalona’s Imulsion refinery. She has more battlefield experience than Lucas and becomes an important part of Bravo Squad when Emergence Day begins.

Lucas Reyes

Lucas Reyes is the second new playable character in Bravo Squad. He is a young cadet and communications officer who had never experienced front-line combat before Emergence Day. Lucas had always wanted to see combat, but his first real experience comes when the Locust attack Kalona. He joins Marcus, Dom, and Mags as they fight to understand and survive the new threat.

Mako

Mako is another new character introduced during the campaign. Marcus and the other members of Bravo Squad encounter him while fighting through Kalona. In the gameplay reveal, Mako is seen defending a grocery store with a Vulcan weapon. He is one of the other Gears caught in the chaos of Emergence Day. Mako is important to the campaign’s wider story, but he is not one of the four playable members of Bravo Squad.

Tai Kaliso

Tai Kaliso is a returning character from the Gears of War universe. E-Day takes place years before his role in Gears of War 2, giving players a chance to see a younger version of the fan-favorite character. Tai appears during the campaign and crosses paths with Marcus and the rest of Bravo Squad. The Coalition has also given the character a new voice actor, Maateiwarangi Heta-Morris, for E-Day.

Bravo Squad is made up of four playable characters: Marcus Fenix, Dom Santiago, Mags Carter, and Lucas Reyes. The entire campaign can be played as any of these four characters from the beginning. The game supports up to four-player online co-op, while two-player split-screen is available on console.

New Characters in Gears of War: E-Day
