Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Walkthrough: Paris to the Catacombs

1. Paris Streets and The Fallen: Head right from the docks through the Undercity to the Ruined Market. Climb to the rooftop above the big well and talk to the Spirit, who hints at a lever near some barrels. Smash the cracked wall beside the barrels, pull the lever, and drop into the Central Sewer Drain. Save at the Mirror of Life, then push on to the huge sealed gate and fight The Fallen. Dodge his close attacks, hit the thrown cross with your weapon or a spell, and strike while he recovers. You get The Fallen’s Key, the Holy Cross spell, and the Arcane Whip, which lets you swing from glowing anchors.
2. Holy Innocents’ Cemetery and Medusa: Use the whip to climb the Court of Miracles, turn the crank on the Bridge of the Millers, and ride the water wheel up. Grab the Crypt Key relic in the Seer’s Hovel, then work through the cemetery, Roman Aqueduct, and Roman Baths. Watch for sawblades and save before the Serpents’ Lair. Against Medusa, turn away from her petrifying gaze, stay careful on the floating platforms, and attack between her moves. She drops The Prophetess’s Key.
3. Prison Tower and Joan of Arc: Climb the outside of the tower with the whip and break the damaged wall on the right to find a hidden room. Joan of Arc waits on the roof. Keep moving, dodge her combos, and strike when she finishes a string. She drops The Warrior’s Key and teaches you Holy Light, which destroys Chaos Shards. Head back to the Abandoned Sewers and use all three keys on the Catacombs gate.
4. The Catacombs and the first Death fight: Break the weak floor at the entrance, cross the Path of the Abyss and save at the Quarry Elevator. Use grapple points in the Realm of Old Night, then enter the red portal at the Stairway to Hell. Death appears at the bottom. This fight is tied to the story, so just dodge and survive until the cutscene.
Castlevania Belmont’s Curse Complete Walkthrough: Castle and Clock Tower
1. Justice District and Isaac: Ask the Ferryman to take you to Paris Streets, climb through the Court of Justice, and cross the Notre-Dame Bridge with the whip. Isaac attacks near the castle gate. Stay mobile and counter after his combos. This version turns out to be an illusion.
2. Dracula’s Castle and Carmilla: Explore the Grand Hall, Workshop and Waterworks, and find Queen Eleanor in the Mirror Rooms. For Carmilla, read the Star Chart in the Planetarium, then match the astrolabe rings in the Observation Tower to the constellation. In the fight, break the floating skulls, slip between the blood columns, and attack when she resurfaces. You earn Blood Spikes and Aerial Rush, a sideways air dash.
3. Library, Clock Tower and Talos: Do not enter the throne room portal at the Clock Tower Bridge too early. It is Death’s trap and triggers a Bad Ending. If it happens, choose Resume after the credits. Take the Path of the Builder to the furnace hall and fight Talos using the platforms to dodge hazards. You get the Fist of Talos spell and the Smash ability for breaking cracked blocks.
4. Circle of Greed and Mammon: The door needs three relics equipped together: the Thrilling Eye (Hospital), the Trembling Eye (Pillaged Tombs in the cemetery), and the Oozing Eye (raised platform inside the Circle of Greed). Against Mammon, use the overhead grapple rings to avoid floor attacks and move between his beams. Search his treasure pile for the Ferryman’s Obol, which you will need later for a trial in Notre-Dame.
Notre-Dame, Death and the Vampire Killer

Break the hanging sculpture in Brauner’s Atelier with Smash to get The Artist Arcana. Equip it and interact with the Notre-Dame painting in the Gallery of Eternal Night to enter the cathedral.
Inside, you must fix the corrupted organ. Collect three Melody Sheets from a Spirit under the Great Organ Room stairs, the Sealed Scriptorium, and the top of La Flèche. Then play each tune on the floor keys. Once the organ is clean, fight Death for real in the Transept. Keep moving and use spells when getting close is risky. You earn Soul Harvest, and a visit to the infirmary rewards you with the Vampire Killer. Also grab Double Jump in the Choir by approaching the glowing yellow doorway beside the large gap.
Heart of the Clock and Dracula
Return to the Clock Tower Bridge, equip Soul Harvest, and interact with the large clock to climb safely. Use the red clock switches to slow the machinery, cross the Bridge of Haste, and rush up the Steps of Time. Save before the Heart of the Clock, where you fight Isaac again. This time he is real and drops Chronomantic Dive and the spear Chauve-Souris.
In the Court of the Night, Dracula has two phases. In phase one, he teleports and summons flame pillars, so avoid long attacks while he moves and strike after his spells. In phase two he becomes a giant winged demon over the rooftops. Dodge the meteors, reposition before his claw sweeps, and hit him when his combo ends. Beat both forms to see the Normal Ending, then choose Resume after the credits.
How to Get the True Ending
The credits are not the end. For the True Ending, finish the Four Virtues trials, including the Temperance Trial in Notre-Dame, and then defeat Dracula again. This part of the Castlevania Belmont’s Curse complete walkthrough is where optional rewards help.
- Excalibur and Arthur: Return to the Notre-Dame Chapel after the first ending, keep trying to pull the sword, and beat the stained-glass knight Arthur.
- The Succubus: Work through the Hall of Mirrors maze to Belmont Manor and defeat her for Life Drain.
Tips to Move Faster
- Save at every Mirror of Life. It also refills your potions.
