Dying Light - Vintage Gunslinger Bundle DLC (Europe) (PC / Mac / Linux) - Steam - Digital Key

There is nothing better than traditional law and order. Search your countryside in the Golden Bull buggy while using the Oathbreaker, Onyx Thunderbolt, and Deputy to fight crime. The Vintage Gunslinger Bundle comes with three new weapon blueprints—a shotgun, a revolver, and a slashing knife—and a new character clothing and buggy paint job.

Despite being filthy and overrun by zombies, Harran, the city featured in Dying Light, is a colourful, ambitious open-world playground. There are always exciting things to find nearby, and the buildings here are for climbing. The zombies are there to be creatively destroyed. It takes some time, though. At first, you might even believe Dying Light is about running in terror from hordes of undefeatable zombies who can fast sap your energy and wear out your homemade weaponry. Be not deceived.

Dying Light's monster-infested, run-down ghetto is full of possibilities as it combines first-person parkour with open-world, zombie-fighting RPG action (a la Dead Island) and Mirror's Edge-style parkour. However, climbing and jumping across Harran's rooftops is enjoyable and fluid. Jumping with R1 (on PS4) has been challenging to get used to, and forgetting about that unusual control arrangement still results in the occasional abrupt plummet off a ledge.

Dying Light initially imposes some strict constraints, which makes things more challenging—understanding how to fight while standing is sometimes more crucial when climbing zombies close behind.

Plot:

In Dying Light, leaving the house at night seems like a horrible idea. Everyone cautions you not to do it, and as dusk falls, your fellow inmate's radio in to tell you it's time to return home. You don't intentionally seek out the night; instead, you "get caught out" in it. However, for more courageous runners, the benefits exceed the risks. For instance, nighttime exploration gives you a significant XP increase, allowing you to gain access to abilities that can make combat and parkour much simpler. For another, it fundamentally alters the feel of Dying Light by introducing a stealth component as you attempt to elude the attention of the quick-witted Volatiles (or "nightmares," as one survivor refers to them), which prowl Harran's streets after dusk.

Advantages:

  • Exciting exploration
  • Rewarding Bloodshed
  • Intriguing Side Missions
  • Mediocre narrative

Dying Light progressively and satisfyingly transforms from a covert, desperate survival-horror experience to a quick, hyper-violent festival of vertical freedom and zombie destruction. The unique side quests and pure enjoyment of wandering its world more than makeup for Dying Light's lacklustre main story, making it one of the most captivating open-world games - zombie-infested or not.
