StarDrive raises the bar for "4X Space Strategy" games. You must explore the galaxy, colonise new worlds, develop new colonies, and defend your very existence from those who would take what is yours starting with just one planet and a few space-worthy ships. You get to decide how you play. either employ force or diplomacy. You can rule the galaxy through trade, espionage, and research. Make friends or make fierce enemies...

If your armour is being damaged on the port side during combat, turn around and show them the starboard side! You may launch fighters, lay mines, warp into and out of the combat, hide behind the shields of a friendly capital ship, and do so much more. As a result of StarDrive's modular approach to ship building, players can build their own unique spacecraft, with the composition and arrangement of ship modules having a significant impact on a ship's performance.

Zero Sum Games created the 4X real-time strategy game StarDrive, which was made available for Microsoft Windows in April 2013. In their December 2011 crowdfunding effort, Kickstarter raised $17,676 for the game. The player's objective is to use war and diplomacy to help one of the eight races rule the galaxy while also creating new technologies, discovering new star systems, and conquering new worlds.
