Gameplay

Lords of the Realm II is unique compared to other mediaeval strategy games. In contrast to many wargames, it lacks a technological tree and magic. Players must carefully control the amount of food (cows, dairy, and grain), the population, and the happiness levels while preventing other players' Malthusian population meltdowns or invasions. The Game combines a real-time strategy element where players command forces individually or in formations during battles or sieges with a turn-based resource management element where players cultivate crops, gather resources, make weapons, manage armies, and construct and lay siege to castles.

You are thrust into the epic battles and adventurous life of thirteenth-century England by the Lords of The Realm. You lead an Army, manage harvests, create weapons, build a castle, and command one of five lords to conquer adjacent realms already when they conquer you. Get ready for the battle of your morality as you attempt to ascend to the throne. You are either King; otherwise, you are dead in the end.
