Overview

You can feel what it's like to pilot a spaceship seeking to save the galaxy in FTL. It's a risky endeavour, and every situation calls for a different set of problems to be solved. If a powerful missile bombardment disables your shields, what will you do? Redirect all power to the engines in an effort to flee, prepare more weaponry to destroy your adversary from the sky, or engage them in combat with a boarding party? You can lead your ship and crew on an adventure through a randomly generated galaxy that is packed with triumph and heartbreaking defeat in this "spaceship simulation roguelike-like."

Information and Updates

Nine languages are currently supported by FTL! languages include Simplified Mandarin, Brazilian Portuguese, Brazilian Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, and English.

FTL: Advanced Edition is currently accessible for free! New alien races, activities, weapons, playable ships, drones, and more have all been added to the content! Additionally includes new musical compositions by Ben Prunty, news articles by Tom Jubert and guest author Chris Avellone, and events.

If you already possess FTL, it should instantly update with the new content. All future purchasers of the game will receive the Advanced Edition for free.

Plot

The player pilots a spacecraft with the ability to travel faster than light (FTL). It is a part of the Galactic Federation, which is at war with the Rebellion, an all-Human rebel group that is xenophobic and on the edge of defeat. A data packet from the rebel fleet is intercepted by the player's crew, and it contains information that might devastate the rebels and guarantee a Federation triumph.
