The first simulation to faithfully represent a police officer's duties on the German Autobahn is called Autobahn Police Simulator. The player is tasked with maintaining peace and order in several missions on Europe's busiest routes. The Game Autobahn Police Simulator, also known as Autobahn Polizei Simulator in German, was created by Z-Software and released by Aerosoft GmbH.  The Game's successor was made available on December 7, 2017.

The Autobahn motorway in Germany is where the videogame is situated. The Game supports a first-person or third-person perspective and a gaming wheel to make it more fun. There are 40 tasks in the Game and a playtime option.

One may use the expansive "Free Play" option in contrast to the 40 missions centred on the routine tasks of the Autobahn Cops. In this mode, the player can accept random radio calls for operations. This option comprises 100 more activities spread across various places and hours of the day. Vehicles can also be involved in accidents, which can range in severity. The patrol vehicle is fully stocked with everything required to secure and examine the accident scene. Emergency cars, fire engines, and rescue services complete the accident scene.

The simulation spans a 40-kilometre section of the Autobahn. The user can conduct speed checks from an unmarked police car in places with a speed restriction.

With their urgent illumination capabilities, the daylight and night modes improve the actual radio communications' real-life and thrilling atmosphere.

The Game provides an inside-the-car perspective and an external camera view with unrestricted mobility. The simulation will be more fun if you use a steering wheel.
