Try out Disney Pixar Cars today!
You start off as Lightning McQueen in this video game adaption of Disney•Pixar's Cars, a novice racer hoping to achieve fame and money at the Piston Cup Championship. Cars is a racing-adventure game with ten playable movie characters that have more than 30 races and mini-games in open worlds. Listen for Cheech Marin's comedic relief and Larry the Cable Guy's moral lectures in the game, which feature voice acting from the film.
Based on the 2006 Pixar movie of the same name, Cars is an open-world racing video game. It is also known as Cars: The Video Game. It was created by Rainbow Studios and released in June 2006 for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, Microsoft Windows, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, and PSP. Later that year, it was also made available for the Xbox 360 and Wii. The Wii edition, which was a launch title for the console, features tailored to the Wii Remote controller.
After the events of the movie, the player takes control of Lightning McQueen as he competes in the new racing season and attempts to win the Piston Cup for the first time in his career while also competing and practising with the neighbourhood of Radiator Springs. The player once more controls Lightning McQueen in the PSP edition. The Delinquent Road Hazards gang accepts his challenge to a race after they encounter each other and narrowly miss a collision. The voice actors from the movie, including Owen Wilson, Michael Keaton, Paul Newman, and Larry the Cable Guy, are all included in the console versions of the game. Keith Ferguson performs the role of Lightning McQueen in the PSP and DS versions, though.
Critics gave the home console and PC versions favourable reviews, but the GBA version only earned mixed reviews. This could be because the GBA version is at an odd angle and difficult to navigate. Two sequels, Cars Mater-National Championship (2007) and Cars Race-O-Rama were released after this one (2009).
The Key Features of Disney Pixar Cars:
- The fictional town of Radiator Springs serves as the setting for the video game's console versions, where it takes place after the motion picture.
- To assist Lightning McQueen in winning his first Piston Cup, the player must participate in 19 road races, eight mini-games, and five piston cup races.
- The game allegedly takes place in a different chronology in the PSP version. To assist Lightning McQueen in taking Radiator Springs back from the Delinquent Road Hazards gang, the player must participate in 13 races as well as 5 boss races.
- The game has ten playable characters from the movie, all spoken by the original voice cast, and takes place in an open environment in the style of Need for Speed, Grand Theft Auto, and Midnight Club.
- The game also includes a variety of collectables and minigames for the player to engage in.
