A five-part video game series called The Walking Dead is based in the same world as the celebrated comic book series by Robert Kirkman. Take on the role of Lee Everett, a felon who has been given a second chance at life in a world overrun by the undead. In a world gone to hell where corpses are coming back to life and survivors would do anything to keep themselves safe, guarding an orphan girl named Clementine might be his one chance at redemption.
Key Features
- The Walking Dead, a video game based on Robert Kirkman's Eisner Award-winning comic book series, lets players feel the actual terror of the zombie apocalypse.
- Live with the significant and long-lasting effects of the choices you make in each episode of the game. Your decisions and actions will have an impact on how your story develops across the entire series.
- You'll be forced to make choices that are not only challenging but also call for a decision to be made almost immediately. When the dead are banging on the door, there is no time to think!
Gameplay
Lee Everett is the persona you play in The Walking Dead. He is a well educated university professor who has been found guilty of murder and is currently en route to prison. The game does a superb job at establishing a connection with Lee right away. The cop who is driving you and you start a casual conversation, and then BAM. When you hit a walker, Lee's entire world is turned upside down even worse than it was when he was found guilty of murder.
Everyone shouldn't want the job of turning something they already adore into a video game. Designing for games has its own set of constraints and requirements, and working within them while attempting to realise your own creative vision frequently results in compromises that are spooky enough to wear for Halloween.
That Telltale avoids the mistake made by anything like the Watchmen movie is a creative miracle. It doesn't exist to homigate itself, and it isn't excessively faithful to its source material to placate ComicCon fans who may otherwise threaten to blow their This Isn't Canon Whistle.
Telltale uses a parallel narrative to those already being told on television and in print, letting Robert Kirkman's graphic novel's tone naturally influence and impact the game's design. In contrast to the two hours and 20 minutes it took me to finish, the end result is fresh, laser-focused, and intensely emotionally compelling.
