It was launched in 2006 and is set in the fictional town of Barrow Hill, based on real-life sites in Cornwall, England.
The haunting Cornish countryside comes to life like never before. After entering the Autumn Equinox, you get one night to solve a frightening mystery. Traverse the well-worn paths throughout the land, look for hints in practically forgotten shrines, and encounter the ancient energies that dwell in Barrow Hill, a standing stone structure.
Rising Stones: Standing stones are among the most perplexing mysteries of the ancient world. There are no good answers for what they are, how they were made, or who created them. A comprehensive and compelling tale is woven into the fabric of Barrow Hill, giving plausible answers, different riddles, and an opportunity to delve under the shell of archaeology like no other Game before it.
Go deeper and darker: Use basic archaeological skills and practise to discover lost treasures and dive into the Celtic stories stalk the hill's green alleys. Cornwall is formerly known as the home of numerous sorcerers, ancient rulers, and legendary figures. From the hedgerow and clifftop piskies to the creatures of Bodmin Moor. There isn't a single nook of England's most western region that isn't teeming with legend, magic, and peril!
Plot & Action of the Game
Bound to spend a frightening night there, the player will uncover what is happening with the locals and why an archaeological excavation directed by researcher Conrad Morse has caused such discontent and hostility among the locals. The mysteries will be unravelled while exploring local folklore and beliefs utilizing contemporary technical gear such as PDAs, GPS, and metal analyzers. It is played in the style of a traditional first-person "point and clicks" adventure, with the globe represented by pre-rendered, animated displays. The experience has a nonlinear structure, allowing players to explore the surroundings and acquire clues at their speed.
