Overview

The Human Race had grown to the point that we could travel among the stars and create enormous automated robots to aid in the colonisation of other planets, but due to a bug in their programming, these machines suddenly turned on us and started attacking. forcing us to set a trap to defend Earth while once more banishing the Human race to this planet.

Kyle Brennan embarks on his voyage 500 years later while piloting an experimental ship that is fitted with brand-new technology that enables it to travel great distances on its own. This is his survival story, told in Beyond the Frontier, after his device malfunctions and imprisons him in a region of space that is home to aliens while also leaving him pursued and stranded.

Plot

It describes the rise and fall of humanity in the cosmos, Kyle Brennan's attempt to aid in the repopulation of the stars using a brand-new ship called the Experimental Shuttle, and how he ended up trapped in a closed system of sectors connected by a network of jumpgates, owing credits to an alien for helping to save him, and being sought after by a number of individuals. Unaware that they are the offspring of a group of Humans who saved the world from the Terraformer fleet they developed to aid in the colonisation of the universe, a group of secret service agents is following him.

With the revelation of the Truth, X: Beyond the Frontier now offers the opportunity for the player to take on the role of Kyle Brennan as he searches for a way home, aids a group of individuals in learning the truth about their ancestry, and continues to work to protect earth from the Terraformers, now known as the Xenon.

• Trade: You can trade in more than 50 sectors with more than 50 different items, and you may enhance your ships with dozens of different upgrades that five different races are able to provide.
• Fight - Locate the hostile pirates and defend yourself from Xenon attacks.
• Build – Create stations to expand your own manufacturing empire.
• Consider adapting your commercial empire to each sector's local economic needs.

Gameplay

In the 54 star systems that make up the X Universe, there are a number of installations. Each system has at least one space station, which can be anything from a solar power facility to a shipyard. The player can enhance the X-Perimental Shuttle with additional guns, better shielding, and more cargo space by trading with them and making a profit in the process.
