"Toukiden: 2" is a sequel to the hunting action Game "Toukiden: The Age of Demons"
Plot:
The scene is Nakatsu Kuni, which has been guarded by "Slayers" since antiquity ("Mononofu"). These warriors are known as "devil slayers" because they have united to drive out demons and other dark forces for a thousand years.
Time and the sky warped eight years before the main plot, allowing the underworld to enter the realm of men. From its opening, a gigantic demon emerged, ushering in a disaster for the land. Over seven exhausting days, the Slayers battled the monster and its Army tooth and nail, barely completing their task of defending humanity. The Slayers who took part in the great battle, known as the "Awakening" ("Oomagadoki"), were chosen to assist in re-establishing the governmental order of the kingdom.
The character is a member of the next generation of Slayers who emerge to combat the land's unending demonic powers. They are located in Utakata Village, one of the final bastions of humanity's resistance against demons.
The Backstory:
Like Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War, the protagonist is the player's unavoidably customisable avatar in the main narrative.
The main story advances by conversing with, hearing from, and taking on the quests offered by those marked with exclamation points in Utakata Village. The protagonist must frequently search the map for things or kill demons as part of their missions. The combat segment of the main plot missions (highlighted in red) covers how to deal with larger prey.
The player can return to previously completed missions to farm for loot or upgrade their gear before each hunt if they want. The player can offer a small donation and pray at the shrine close to the village entrance. They might be fortunate enough to acquire a specific ability to aid them in their hunt.
Requests are small fetch quests or hunts that the player can do during missions that can be unlocked as the plot progresses. The usual reward for accomplishing them is Haku (the Game's currency), but these side tasks can be utilised to raise the protagonist's affinity levels with NPCs. Depending on the character, becoming friendly with them may bring various benefits. Shuusui allows users to check their intimacy ratings.
The protagonist's centre of operations is Utakata Village, which provides several amenities for the player. In addition to a store and blacksmith, Shikimi's village temple is essential for helping residents Level up their acquired Mitama (souls) from hunts. The associated request line must be completed to access the local hot springs. It includes unique skills only available once and exclusive fanservice from NPCs who have a solid attachment to the main character.
Five chapters make up the main tale, which may be completed in 32 hours. Players can resume playing from their saved game after finishing the main story in order to acquire more souls, modify their equipment, or strengthen character ties. To assist the player in achieving these objectives outside of the constraints of the main story, chapters six and seven contain advanced hunting missions.
