The psychological suspense thriller Those Who Remain is set in the US village of Dormont. At first impression, Dormont seems like a typical American town. However, a demon cursed it and cast a shadow over everything. Most of the town's residents are stranded in the pitch black with no way out. Edward Turner is a regular guy with a rough past who shows up in the wrong place and time. He quickly discovers that Dormont is experiencing a severe problem. Strange creatures are stalking the night, killing anyone who comes too close.

Being in the light is the only way to survive. There are other factors at work in Dormont besides the threat of the dark. There are unusual gateways that emit dazzling lights and seem to transport everyone who enters them to another identical and distinct location, seemingly unreal but quite natural. The effects of one place's actions are felt in another.

Some errors should never occur after your life has been fully lived. Edward, who had a lovely wife and the ideal child, finds himself driving through Dormont's nighttime traffic after downing numerous whiskeys to the right his wrongs.
