Overview

Unwitting hero George Stobbart decides to return to a routine 9–5 office job after grudgingly taking on dragons and Mayan gods and becoming a knight of a long-lost Holy Order. Who would have imagined that he would meet a strange and attractive woman whose abrupt disappearance prompts him to conduct a frantic hunt for a sinister artefact with vast and dreadful power?

Storyline

Following the events of The Sleeping Dragon, George Stobbart and his business partner Virgil are managing a bail bonds company in New York. When George meets Anna Maria, she has an antique manuscript that she needs his assistance to decipher. The manuscript is taken by a gang of mobsters chasing it when they raid George's bail bonds business and Anna Maria's hotel room. George learns that Fingers Martino, who owns a former meatpacking plant, is in charge of the gang. George sneaks into the facility and overhears a discussion between Mr Spallaci, the person in possession of the manuscript, and Fingers.

Gameplay

There are two user interfaces in Broken Sword: The Angel of Death: point, click, and direct control. With the aid of a mouse or keyboard, the player controls George Stobbart's actions. Nicole Collard is also a playable character in some Game modes. To solve puzzles and advance in the Game, George must gather items that can be combined with other collectables, pieces of scenery, or characters in the Game area. Through conversation trees, George can converse with other characters to learn more about what is required to solve problems and advance the plot.
