The upcoming major instalment of the well-known Resident Evil series, Resident Evil 7 biohazard, charts a new direction for the franchise by building on its history and presenting a terrifyingly horrifying horror adventure. Players experience the terror firsthand from the first-person perspective in this Resident Evil® game, which is set in contemporary rural America and occurs after the shocking events of Resident Evil® 6. Twenty years after the term "survival horror" was first used, Resident Evil 7 embodies the gameplay elements that made the series famous: exploration and tense atmosphere. At the same time, a complete overhaul of the gameplay systems simultaneously elevates the survival horror experience to a new level.

The survival horror game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was created and released by Capcom. With the help of puzzles and foes, the player takes control of Ethan Winters as he hunts for his long-missing wife at a deserted plantation inhabited by an infected family. Resident Evil 7 departs from the more action-focused Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, going back to the series' survival horror roots and emphasising exploration. This one is the first primary Resident Evil game to employ a first-person perspective.

Gameplay

As the player explores an abandoned home in search of his missing wife, the player assumes control of Ethan Winters. Even though Ethan lacks combat experience, he can defend himself against the Baker family, humanoid fungi known as the "Molded," mutated insects, and other estate residents by arming himself with a range of weaponry such as handguns, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives, and chainsaws. He can deflect blows to lessen harm. Throughout various parts of the game, players must avoid being followed by Baker family members who, when fighting, can only be momentarily crippled. However, by using stealth or fleeing, one can avoid these encounters.

Items can be obtained through achieving specific in-game goals (such as beating the game in a set amount of time or on a selected difficulty); after being unlocked, these items will then appear in the item box on subsequent plays. These include, among other things, a powerful handgun, a circular saw, shoes that quicken walking, scrolls that lessen damage incurred while guarding, and glasses that indicate the location of goods.
