Overview

For the first time in 8 years, Ys is back with a brand-new adventure! Adol wakes up stranded on a cursed island after being shipwrecked. He establishes a community there with the other shipwrecked passengers he saves in order to contend with the dangerous monsters and enigmatic ruins on the remote island. In the middle of everything, Adol starts having strange dreams about a blue-haired woman who lives in another land. In Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA, follow Adol as he solves the mystery of the cursed island and the blue-haired maiden Dana.

Storyline

 

When the Lombardia, a passenger ship travelling from Xandria to the continent of Eresia, is attacked and destroyed in the Gaete Sea archipelagos by a monstrous beast, Adol awakens to find himself on the Isle of Seiren, a cursed island. He works with princess Laxia von Roswell and the fisherman Sahad Nautilus to aid his fellow castaways in surviving and locating a method to leave the island while on the lookout for new survivors.

 

He also wants to learn more about Dana Iclucia, a mysterious prehistoric girl who appears to be connected to the Isle of Seiren and Adol's fate. Dana is the subject of his dreams.

 

Ricotta Beldine, a citizen of the Isle of Seiren, and transporter Hummel Trabaldo, who was a passenger on the Lombardia, are shortly added to Adol's party. Ataxia notices the island's creatures are unlike anything she has ever seen while searching for more castaways there. She draws the conclusion that the monsters are a class of extinct animals known as Primordials by citing her father's academic work.

 

 

Gameplay

 

A third-person action role-playing game, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, is available. It expands on the core gameplay mechanics of Ys Seven and Ys: Memories of Celceta, which let players control a variety of main characters with interchangeable play styles and special abilities. By slaying local fauna and unlocking chests, the player gathers a variety of materials. These resources can be used to create goods, such as stronger weaponry and healing items, that the player can utilize on their quest. It is possible to save a number of other shipwrecked passengers and bring them to the settlement, where they will be of great assistance.
