In Train Simulator, the Class 33 "Crompton," a vintage British Rail Southern Region diesel engine, is prepared to start working for you.

In 1960, the Class 33 made its debut in British Rail Green livery and was used in the southeast. The 33 spread quickly throughout the entire Southern Region and could occasionally be seen much further afield, mostly running passenger services but also trying its hand at freight operations. It was one of the first British Rail locomotives to be equipped with a contemporary electric train heating system. The 1,550-horsepower Sulzer engines were installed in 98 different instances, and the sailors seemed to like them.

The "Crompton" were in service during the BR Blue, and Network Southeast eras and 40 of them continued to serve their new owners, EWS, after the network was privatised. Although several of these are still around today in preservation, they have been decommissioned from service. The British Rail diesel enthusiasts' favourite add-on for Train Simulator is the Class 33 Add-On, which has Sea Lion ballast hoppers and seven authentic liveries.
