Mapping

 

When compared to RPG Maker XP, the mapping mechanism in RPG Maker VX is much different. There are nine global tile sets that can be utilised in anyway you see fit rather than setting tile sets to each individual map. Since RPG Maker VX only has two "useful" layers—one for tile sets B to E and another for tile sets A1 to A5—the layer structure from earlier iterations has also been modified. The RGSS Tilemap class has three layers, but only two of them are used to combine the tilesets from A1 and A2 to create the auto title mapping system.
