How This Watcher of Realms Tier List Is Built

We cross checked the latest community rankings with a live hero database that grades every hero in Guild Boss, Gear Raids, Campaign, Guild War and Arena. A hero has to perform well across several modes to reach the top. When rankings strongly disagree, the hero lands in the middle and gets flagged in the split opinions section further down. Heroes from the last few weeks have very little data behind them, so their spots are early placements that may move.

TierWhat It Means
S+Meta defining heroes that dominate most modes. Build them first if you own them.
SThe best in the game at one or two jobs. Safe long term investments.
AStrong team players, though an S tier hero usually does the same job a little better.
BSolid niche picks and good placeholders while your Legendary roster grows.
CSituational. Only build them for a specific team or event.
DSkip them and use them as upgrade fodder.

One quick note on how battles work, because it shapes these rankings. Watcher of Realms plays a lot like a tower defense game. You deploy heroes onto ground tiles, where they can block enemies, or onto raised platforms, where they attack without blocking. Defenders hold the line, damage dealers fire from behind, and Tacticians can be moved around in the middle of a fight. If you enjoy this tile based style, our Arknights tier list covers another great game built on the same idea.

Oren (Fighter)

Oren leads the pack, and the top community rankings agree. He is a Legendary Fighter and a Lord for the Supreme Arbiters faction. His attacks hit groups of enemies and stack a debuff called Radiant Erosion, and once a target reaches three stacks, he triggers an extra burst. He also makes enemies take more physical, magic and true damage (damage that ignores defense), so your whole team hits harder. His Lord skill deals area damage and gives Arbiter allies a temporary 50% damage boost. He is a little weaker against single big bosses, but few heroes can match him in Campaign, Guild War and Arena.

Valara (Tactician)

Valara is the strongest Tactician in the game. She deals magic damage to groups, slows everything she hits, and each attack has a 20% chance to deal 200% area damage. On a raised platform she turns invisible, though she can no longer block enemies there. Like every Tactician, you can move her around during a fight to cover whichever lane is in trouble. She is a top pick for Gear Raids, Campaign and Guild War. Her one weak spot is Guild Boss, where single target damage matters more.

Ingrid (Mage)

Ingrid is the most flexible damage dealer on this list. She swaps between two attack modes. Solar Mode hits up to eight enemies at once, while Stellar Mode hits one enemy twice. That lets her clear crowds in one stage and focus a boss in the next. She also doubles as a Lord and gets bonus damage in Arena. She earns top grades in Guild Boss, Gear Raids, Campaign and Arena, which makes her one of the safest Legendary picks in Watcher of Realms.

Diaochan (Healer)

Diaochan is the best healer in Watcher of Realms right now. Her healing scales with her Attack, and she boosts her own healing by 50% on top of that. She switches between two dances, one that keeps raising her healing and one that keeps raising her Attack. Her Inspiration buff gives two allies extra range and lets their hits ignore part of the enemy’s defense, and top players rate it as the best Inspiration in the game. She is graded S+ in Guild Boss, Gear Raids, Campaign and Arena. Guild War is the only mode where she falls off.

Draelyn (Defender)

Draelyn is a Defender who protects the whole squad, not just herself. Her damage scales with her HP, she gives nearby allies area damage reduction, and the damage her allies take is turned into a resource called Draconic Vigor. Her basic attack even heals a teammate. After her first awakening, her ultimate also gives nearby allies 25% more damage for 10 seconds. She is a top pick for Guild Boss, Gear Raids and Campaign, but less useful in Guild War.

Ezareth (Fighter)

Ezareth is a Legendary Fighter who deals magic damage and leads Cursed Cult teams as a Lord. He creates Dark Spores, stuns groups of enemies, makes them take more magic damage and is immune to debuffs. His bursts are easy to time, which makes him friendly for newer players too. After his first awakening, he and his allied Mages gain 15% area damage for a short time whenever his special attack fires. He is best in Guild War and Gear Raids and struggles against Guild Bosses.

Gretchen (Fighter)

Gretchen plants a Searing Banner the moment she enters the battle, and it keeps lowering the damage of one enemy in her range. She also sets enemies on fire, drains HP, removes enemy buffs, raises critical damage and helps your team regenerate Rage, the energy that powers ultimates. Most of her damage lands on one target, so she is a monster in Guild Boss and Arena and one of the best answers to flying enemies. Keep her away from Gear Raids that flood the map with big groups.

Nastya (Mage)

Nastya is a poison specialist with her own Lord skill. Every time she deals damage, she has a 40% chance to poison the target, and enemies that hit her get poisoned too. Poisoned enemies take extra damage, and she turns the debuffs on enemies into a damage boost for your whole team. After her first awakening, her ultimate also stuns poisoned enemies. She pairs nicely with Numera and Vorn for a full poison squad and earns top grades in Guild Boss and Guild War.

Gu Shi (Marksman)

Gu Shi builds a stack of Blade Resonance with every basic attack. Every 10 stacks summons an extra Soulblade to fight beside him, and at 50 stacks he powers up into a stronger stage. He can also strip buffs from enemies. His exclusive artifact, Pathbreaker, adds up to 30% single target damage and makes his Soulblades hit much harder. Gu Shi is at his best in Guild Boss and Campaign, so skip him for Gear Raids.

Kassandra (Fighter)

Kassandra arrived with the Assassin’s Creed crossover and went straight to the top of the Fighter class. She gains a Spartan Resolve stack every six attacks, and every 10 seconds she marks up to three enemies with Mark of Ikaros. Her first awakening adds two extra hits to her ultimate and lets it ignore 30% of the target’s defense. Her exclusive artifact, the Spear of Leonidas, adds up to 30% single target damage. Mode by mode grades are still coming in, so treat her as an elite single target hitter for now.

Jezebelle (Marksman)

Jezebelle plants Seeds of Malice on enemies. When a seeded enemy dies or the seed runs out, it explodes for 200% damage on up to five nearby enemies, and that damage doubles against flying units. If only one enemy is close by, her first awakening turns the blast into a single 400% hit. Her exclusive artifact, Perdition, adds up to 35% damage and makes enemies caught in the explosion take more physical damage. She is rated at the very top overall, but detailed mode grades are not out yet.

S Tier Watcher of Realms Heroes

S tier heroes are a small step behind the S+ group on this Watcher of Realms tier list. Many of them are the best in the game at one specific job, so they are still safe long term investments.

Guan Yu (Tactician)

Guan Yu is an area damage Tactician with healing and Rage generation built into his kit. Every 10 seconds, his next basic attack becomes a Crescent Slash, and after five kills he gains Dragon’s Eidolon, which turns his next attack into a powerful Dragon Crescent Slash. His exclusive artifact also cuts enemy defense by 30%. After his first awakening, his ultimate gives him and every ally within two tiles 20% more damage, plus a shield for himself. He is a great Campaign and Immortal Codex pick but weak in Guild War.

Cainan (Tactician)

Cainan can be placed on ground tiles or platforms, which makes him easy to fit into any map. His basic attacks build Headwind stacks, and every sixth hit slams the enemy with the highest Attack for 160% damage. In his Ascendant Form, that strike doubles to 320% and hits two enemies at once. He is graded just below the very top overall, but full mode grades are still being collected.

Ne Zha (Fighter)

Ne Zha rotates between three weapons, the Fire Tipped Spear, the Universe Ring and the Yin Yang Blade. Each swap stacks a damage boost up to three times, and that boost doubles during his ultimate. His first awakening adds a slow to the Universe Ring. He can hit flying enemies and handles both single targets and groups, so he slots into Campaign, Gear Raids and Guild War without any trouble.

Kigiri (Fighter)

Kigiri is a counterattack Fighter. When you use his ultimate, he sheathes his blade, and if he parries an attack in that window, he strikes back with Sweeping Strike, or with the stronger Ember Strike if the parry comes quickly. His Bleed deals damage based on the enemy’s max HP, which is brutal against bosses, and he can remove enemy buffs. He is one of the best Guild Boss heroes in the game, but keep him out of Gear Raids.

Beelzebub (Mage)

Beelzebub is more about support than raw damage. His swarm of flies slows every enemy it touches, he makes enemies take more magic damage, and his ultimate hands out Inspiration and damage reduction. In a Cursed Cult team, he even heals a cultist ally. His exclusive artifact guarantees critical hits on enemies his flies recently bit. Use him in Gear Raids, Campaign and Guild War.

Silas (Marksman)

Silas aims at flying enemies first, which makes him one of the cleanest answers to airborne waves. His Bloodpact passive triggers when enemies die near him, and his exclusive artifact makes it trigger on a timer instead. He also shares a bond with Vierna, and a bonded Silas ignores a big chunk of enemy defense, so try to pull them together. He is strongest in Gear Raids and Campaign, and the new flying Guild Boss gives him even more value.

Eirlys (Healer)

Every heal from Eirlys applies Serene Breath, which cuts the physical and magic damage that ally takes. Healing a teammate who already has Serene Breath refills some of her Rage, so she uses her ultimate often. She also brings burst heals and a death save. She can struggle to keep a big group alive alone, so she works best in smaller squads, and she earns top grades in Guild Boss, Guild War and Arena.

Elowyn (Healer)

Elowyn heals three allies at a time and raises the Rage regeneration of every ally on the field, so your whole team fires off ultimates more often. After her first awakening, her ultimate also cuts the damage allies take by 20% for 10 seconds. She is graded S or higher in almost every mode, which makes her one of the most reliable healers for both new and veteran accounts.

Brokkir (Defender)

Brokkir is a classic frost tank. His ultimate, Frost Armor, wraps him in a shield, and after his first awakening he freezes up to five nearby enemies when that shield breaks. His exclusive artifact lets him block one extra enemy and heals him whenever he gets frozen. He is a top pick for Guild War defense and Gear Raids, but he deals very little damage, so pair him with strong hitters.

A Tier Watcher of Realms Heroes

A tier is the biggest pool of reliable team players in the Watcher of Realms tier list. These heroes are strong, but an S tier hero usually does the same job a bit better. Do not bench them if they fill a gap in your lineup.

Ezio Auditore (Tactician)

Ezio Auditore is the free Legendary hero from the Assassin’s Creed crossover. Every 12 seconds he enters Lethal Instinct, and after his first awakening, his next two attacks become guaranteed Assassinate strikes with a much bigger damage multiplier. His exclusive artifact, the Auditore Blade, adds up to 30% single target damage. You can claim him through a login reward that runs until October 18, 2026, so grab him now even if you are not ready to build him.

Rivenhald (Tactician)

Rivenhald is a North Throne Lord and a support style Tactician. His Lord skill raises the basic stats of North Throne allies by 15% and keeps shielding them through the fight, with smaller shields for everyone else. His basic attack heals several allies, and his exclusive artifact removes debuffs from nearby teammates when his ultimate fires. Rankings place him anywhere from A to SS, and he does his best work in Gear Raids and Campaign.

Dolores (Healer)

Dolores is an Epic hero, which makes her one of the easiest strong healers to pick up. Her basic attack heals every ally in range, and her ultimate, Graceful Dancing, raises the Attack of all nearby allies through Inspiration. Many players see it as the best Attack buff for area damage teams, and her first awakening makes it 20% stronger. She is a must build for Immortal Codex and a great budget healer during early progression.

Count Dracula (Fighter)

Count Dracula is one of the strangest heroes in the game. He never starts basic attacks on his own. Instead, he links himself to the two strongest allies near him with Soul Rot, which boosts their damage while he builds Soul Siphon stacks. His ultimate then hits 75 times, clears out regular enemies and stops enemies from healing. One major ranking puts him at the very top for Guild Boss, Guild War and Arena, while another rates him much lower, so he lands in A tier here.

Khadgrim (Defender)

Khadgrim is a Defender who earns S grades or better in Gear Raids, Campaign, Guild War and Arena. He is especially strong in the two player versus player modes, Guild War and Arena. If you are climbing the Arena ladder, he is one of the best tanks to invest in outside the S tier.

Nerissa (Healer)

Nerissa is an Esoteria Order Healer with top grades in Arena and strong results in Guild Boss and Campaign. She makes a great second healer and a solid stand in if you have not pulled Diaochan or Elowyn yet.

B Tier Watcher of Realms Heroes

B tier heroes are the role players of this Watcher of Realms tier list. They will not carry your account, but they fill gaps nicely while you build toward stronger heroes, and a few of them shine in the right team.

Zilitu (Fighter)

Zilitu is an Infernal Blast Fighter whose damage spikes under an Infernal Lord. Built that way, she can still post big Guild Boss numbers, and she holds an S+ grade in Immortal Codex. Outside a dedicated Infernal Blast team, she falls behind.

Rosalia (Fighter)

Rosalia is a Cursed Cult Fighter with an S+ Gear Raid grade from one major ranking, while others are far less impressed. If you farm Gear Raids heavily, she performs well above this spot.

Bayek (Marksman)

Bayek joined with the Assassin’s Creed crossover. His early grades range from B+ all the way to S+, so he sits in the middle until more data comes in. He is a fine Marksman to use if you already own him.

Raizan (Marksman)

Raizan’s damage ramps up the longer he keeps attacking, so he gets better in long boss fights and worse in short stages. He is a decent pick for drawn out Guild Boss runs but not a priority.

Veyrathia (Fighter)

Veyrathia is a recent Nightmare Council Fighter with early grades between A and A+, which puts this hero at the top of B tier for now. Expect the placement to move once more players test Veyrathia in Guild Boss and Guild War.

C Tier Watcher of Realms Heroes

C tier heroes are situational. Only build them if they fit a team you already run or if an event calls for them.

Lady Mina (Mage)

Lady Mina is the most divisive hero in the game. One major ranking grades her SS overall and S+ in Arena, while another puts her in D tier. If Arena is your main mode, treat her as a much better pick than this spot suggests.

Vorn (Marksman)

Vorn is a poison Marksman who works best beside Nastya and Numera in a full poison team. In that setup, Vorn becomes a top tier Guild Boss pick. Without the rest of the poison crew, the value drops fast.

Oakenvar (Defender)

Oakenvar is a new Watchguard Defender with early grades ranging from B to A. For now, think of Oakenvar as a backup tank rather than a must pull, and keep an eye on this spot as more data rolls in.

D Tier Watcher of Realms Heroes

D tier is the bottom of the Watcher of Realms tier list, and most heroes here have simple kits with only a couple of useful skills. Use them as upgrade fodder and move on. Two exceptions are worth knowing about.

Voroth (Fighter)

Voroth gets a B+ from one major ranking, mostly thanks to a strong Guild Boss grade, while the other puts Voroth in D tier. Only build this hero for a specific Guild Boss team.

Vortex (Healer)

Vortex holds an S+ grade in Immortal Codex and not much anywhere else. If Codex is giving you trouble and you have no better healer, Vortex can help, but nowhere else.

New Watcher of Realms Heroes and Where They Rank

The last two months brought a lot of new faces. Here is where each one sits on this Watcher of Realms tier list. Keep in mind that the newest heroes have the least data, so their spots can still shift.

Watcher of Realms Grey Blades Faction

The Grey Blades are a brand new faction built around Sync attacks. Several members can launch a Sync no matter how far apart they stand, so the whole squad piles onto the same target. Garroq and Amelia Ainsworth have the strongest early grades of the four new heroes.

The same update added the Fallen Covenant, a weekly Guild Boss that unlocks once your guild opens Drake’s Chasm Abyss I. The boss keeps splitting into two monsters, Ramiel and Roderic, so you need two separate teams that cannot share heroes, gear or artifacts. It also flies, which makes heroes who handle airborne enemies, like Gretchen, Silas and Jezebelle, more valuable than ever. Sun Wukong picked up a new Aspect too. Golden Immortal adds splash damage to his Golden Cudgel Strike and is available in the Great Sage Saga Event Shop.

Assassin’s Creed Crossover Heroes

The crossover started on August 20 and brought Ezio, Kassandra, Eivor, Bayek and Evie Frye into the world of Tya, along with a stealth themed event mode. Kassandra is the clear standout and already sits in S+. Ezio Auditore is free through a login reward that runs until October 18, 2026, so do not let that one slip.

Wizard of Oz Heroes Are on the Way

Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion have been spotted as upcoming heroes for a Wizard of Oz collaboration. Their kits and release date are not confirmed yet, so we will rank them once they go live.

Watcher of Realms Heroes With Split Opinions

How to Build a Strong Watcher of Realms Team as a Beginner

A Watcher of Realms tier list only helps if you spend your resources wisely. Here is how new players can turn these rankings into a team that actually wins.

Cover Every Role First

A strong lineup needs a Defender to block, a Healer to keep everyone standing and at least two damage dealers. Add a Marksman or another hero who can hit flying enemies, because airborne waves will punch straight through a team that cannot reach them.

Stick to One or Two Factions

Lords give bonuses to heroes from their own faction, and some other heroes carry faction perks too. Oren boosts Arbiter damage, Rivenhald shields North Throne allies, and even Beelzebub heals Cursed Cult teammates. Building around one or two factions lets those bonuses actually kick in, so avoid a random mix of factions where nobody gets buffed.

Focus Your Upgrades on a Few Heroes

Legendary Soulstones are the rarest resource in the game, and they let you choose which Legendary to awaken instead of relying on summon luck. Spend them on S+ heroes you already own, and push one hero all the way before starting the next. One fully awakened carry beats three half built ones every time.
