Do you have your investigation hat on? It is time to delve into a mysterious game called Mindcop. The game was released on 14th November 2024. It’s all we can think about. The game has officially blown our minds since its release. It’s a genius game if you are into murder-investigation games. Do give Mindcop a chance. Let’s get into the Mindcop review to critically analyze the game, and its pros and cons.
The Game’s Storyline
Well, Mindcop is a great game. The game’s storyline is such that it would get you out of your gaming slump. The truly engaging game has a funny protagonist. What’s unique about him is that he’s not a new detective, he’s actually quite famous in the game. His name is also Mindcop like the game. This is also quite unconventional that the developers have experimented with. The storyline follows a whodunnit story mode where you must find the murderer in the small town. The game feels like an Agatha Christie novel come to life.
Art Style and Depiction
The art of the game is quite different from what we are used to. The 2D mode feels like a graphic novel being controlled by the users. This interested us in the game more. The cute outlines of cartoon-type characters are simplified because of the game. The heavy murder investigation is not an expected storyline for this art style; however, it somehow fits. This game is probably the most fun we have had after a while because of its unconventionality.
Graphics and Visuals
Well, as we mentioned, the graphics are quite extraordinary in their depiction of the Mindcop. It’s also intentional to make the game like it is because of its heavy storyline. The visuals do immerse you into the story because it feels like you’re reading a book and solving the mystery yourself. It’s really cool if you ask us. However, sometimes the cartoon style is too much on the screen which makes it hard to keep track of the characters, and even overlook the small quirks of the people who could be the murderer.
Humor and Soundtrack
The game is quite humorous which brings the serious nature down by a couple of levels. There are some things that the Mindcop says which is sarcastic or quite humorous. However, the soundtrack could have been better. The sounds do match the game sometimes but it can be a little repetitive and redundant. In fact, the game also gets boring because of the sounds. Other than this, in some places like paper crinkling, windsurfing, and other sounds do add to the overall aesthetic of the game.
The Time Feature
Unlike other games that hand-feed the users and players with clues, Mindcop makes sure to not do that. This is what makes this game very distinct from other games in the market. The time feature doesn’t give everything to you in the beginning. Like real life, everything takes time and it is even deducted when you inspect or question people. This time feature is the fun part of the game. It puts a timer on everything. In fact, you also start and end days which makes it a more enjoyable game. The ticking clock will also put some pressure on you which will make you want to keep going and solve it ASAP.
Your Decisions Matter
In the game, every decision you make will have a consequence. This feature makes the game more interesting and gives it a realistic touch. In the ongoing investigation, whichever replies you choose will matter and either leave you on a dead end or open up another avenue to explore. In fact, it is on you to decide whether to believe the people or not and act like a true detective. Wear your investigative hat because you’re in charge here.
Final Verdict
The part we have all been waiting for. The final verdict of Mindcop and the Driffle rating! Well, we rate this game a fair 8.5/10 on the sole basis of the Storyline, graphics, features, and humor.
