Anime Expeditions Tier List (Update 3.5): All Units Ranked

Last updated: 15 October 2026

Update 3.5 Monster Clash just added Subject 8 and Alchemy Brothers to Anime Expeditions, and the top of the meta has shifted hard since the Endless Hellflame update. Our Anime Expeditions tier list ranks 64 units in the Roblox tower defense game right now, from the Secrets that carry Boss Rush and Infinite to the Rare starters you should swap out first.

Every unit is ranked in its evolved form, based on damage, crowd control, team value, and how easy it is to actually field in a real run.

SS Tier Units

These eight units sit at the top of our Anime Expeditions tier list and define the current meta. Most of them came from Update 2.5 Absolute Dream and Update 3 Endless Hellflame, and they leave older carries behind in both damage and utility.

Sovereign (Djinn)

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Storm, Physical
  • Best trait: Unbound, or Primordial if you want all three copies on the field
  • Main job: Boss killer that also clears waves

Sovereign is the safest top pick in the game because it does two jobs in one slot. When no boss is around, Lightning Djinn makes every attack send out five chains that bounce between enemies, so normal waves melt. The moment a boss walks into range, Nine Tailed Fox Djinn switches on as well, adding 50% damage, freezing targets, locking onto the boss, and leaving a permanent 15% slow after the freeze wears off.

On top of that, Djinn’s Judgment drops a lightning strike on the strongest enemy every seven seconds, which chains and freezes too. Sovereign is also cheap to place, so you can drop it on the first wave and start upgrading immediately. The unit is inspired by Sinbad from Magi. It arrived with Update 2 Summer Siege through the Summer Portal grind, so check whether that content is still live in your game before you plan around it.

Crimson Captain (Moon)

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Flame, Magical
  • Best trait: Unbound or Draconic
  • Main job: Fire damage carry and Flame team booster
  • How to get: Summon it on the Update 3 banner with Infernal Dust earned in Boss Rush

The whole Fire meta revolves around Crimson Captain. Its Scorched effect stacks up to 10 times on enemies in range, and scorched enemies take extra damage from every Flame unit and every Fire damage over time effect on your team. The more Flame units and burns you have nearby, the stronger it gets, and once Scorched is maxed, its own burns always land as critical hits.

It also builds Fire Banners that march out as damaging summons, and its Seventh Form ability hits everything in range for a big burst and applies a heavy Burn. Pair it with Devil (Hero), Fallen Angel (Holy), and Head Captain (Char) and you have one of the strongest teams in the game. The design is inspired by Benimaru from Fire Force. Keep in mind that it can only be placed twice and its final upgrade numbers are still being tested.

5th God Hand

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Dark, Psychic
  • Best trait: Unbound, since it is capped at one placement anyway
  • Main job: Area damage plus crowd control
  • How to get: Evolve Broken Falcon. In Crimson Shore Act 1, pick the Sacrifice option at the Broken Falcon NPC to trade 150 souls for an Eclipse Shard, then add 10 Yellow Sprites at the Evolve area

No unit mixes damage and control quite like 5th God Hand. Every third regular attack creates a Distortion that lasts 10 seconds. Enemies that walk into it stop moving, vanish from the map for two seconds, and take damage. Anything that survives gets a Mark of Fate, which fills his Fated Meter.

At 35 stacks, Eclipse hits every enemy in range once per second for five seconds, then the meter resets and builds up again. He is slow to get going and expensive to fully upgrade, so place him on a busy lane early and keep feeding him Yen. He is inspired by Femto from Berserk.

Lightning God (Overcharged)

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Storm, Magical
  • Best trait: Unbound
  • Main job: The best pure area damage in the game, with stuns

If Sovereign is the boss specialist, Lightning God is the wave clearer. Every stun from his electricity adds a point to his Voltage Meter, up to 60, and each point makes his electricity damage 5% stronger. That adds up to 300% extra electricity damage once he is fully charged.

At 25 Voltage he starts summoning Storm Clouds, and at 60 he calls down Tempest Discharge, a lightning strike that hits every enemy in range and keeps electricity active on them. His Molten Gold passive stuns two enemies every 10 seconds on its own, so the meter fills naturally during a run. He can be placed three times and stays useful in every long mode. He is inspired by Enel from One Piece.

Devil (Hero)

  • Rarity and type: Mythic, Flame, Physical
  • Best trait: Unbound or Draconic
  • Main job: Burst damage and Burn
  • How to get: Summon base Devil from the Standard banner (0.083%) or the Mini Banner (0.25%), then evolve it with a Soul of Fire, Sprites, and 10,000 Gold

Devil is the hardest hitting new Mythic and plays like a smaller Crimson Captain. Every 20 seconds his next attack drops a Demon Head zone. Enemies inside take 10% more damage from him and get hit with an enhanced Burn, and when the zone expires it explodes for part of the burn damage it stored. His Demon Meter also makes him attack faster the longer he stays busy.

His weak spot is short range, so put him right next to the path where enemies bunch up. He is at his best beside Crimson Captain. Devil is inspired by Shinra Kusakabe from Fire Force. Some players keep him a step lower until his final upgrade levels are fully tested, but his burst damage already sits among the best in the game.

Fallen Angel (Holy)

  • Rarity and type: Mythic, Light, Physical
  • Best trait: Draconic or Optics
  • Main job: Time Stop crowd control with Burn
  • How to get: Accept Devil’s quest, Devil’s Request, on the Flaming Monastery story map. It can randomly add an Infernal Stage to a story map, and collecting Torn Pages from that stage unlocks Fallen Angel

Fallen Angel is the best stall unit in Anime Expeditions right now, and you do not need to summon for it. Every 30 seconds it stops time for enemies in range for 10 seconds, up to three times per enemy. During that window it burns everything it hits, and the Burn spreads to the three closest enemies.

Kills during the time stop add an extra second, and the burns grow stronger with every tick. When the stop ends, enemies hit by spread Burn take one more chunk of damage. That is a free attack window for your entire team, which is why Fallen Angel fits almost any lineup. It can be placed twice.

Iron Wolf (Struggler)

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Dark, Physical
  • Best trait: Unbound
  • Main job: Bleed damage and lane control
  • How to get: Drops from the Snowy Castle Raid, Act 3

Iron Wolf is the best Bleed unit in the game. Every hit applies Bleed, and his regular attacks instantly cash out all remaining Bleed on a target as True Damage. Enemies that die after bleeding leave Crimson Spill pools on the ground that keep applying Bleed to anything walking through.

Overlapping pools merge and grow, and after enough merges a pool becomes permanent, with up to two permanent pools at once. That is why he gets scarier the longer a match goes, especially in Infinite. He is limited to one placement and is inspired by Guts from Berserk. Pair him with Eclipse Hunter (Savior), which gives Iron Wolf extra damage, range, and area size.

Silver Falcon

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Light, Magical
  • Best trait: Primordial
  • Main job: Team buffer and farm
  • How to get: Bring 150 Redeemed Souls to Crimson Shore Act 1 on Normal, pick Redemption at the Broken Falcon NPC for a Cursed Egg, then evolve Broken Falcon with the egg plus Blue, Green, and Red Sprites

Silver Falcon does not need to carry because it makes everyone else hit harder. The Captain raises base damage for every player’s units by 10%, plus 1% per upgrade, with extra bonuses for Physical and Magical units and another 10% for the type you use most. The Falcon’s Pawn gives a nearby unit 15% more range every 20 seconds.

Then there is War Chest, which fills from kills anywhere on the map and boosts the Yen enemies drop. You get a team damage buff and an economy boost from one slot. Only one copy can be placed, but one is all you need, and its Chosen Sabre equipment pushes The Captain buff to 15%. Since 5th God Hand and Silver Falcon both evolve from Broken Falcon, you need a separate Broken Falcon for each. It is inspired by Griffith from Berserk.

S Tier Anime Expeditions Units

These units sit one step below the top of the Anime Expeditions tier list. They are not quite meta defining, but they clear everything once built. Most players put together their first strong team from this tier.

Subject 8 (Monster)

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Storm, Physical
  • Best trait: TBA, still being tested
  • Main job: Area damage and Physical team buff
  • How to get: Play Monster Clash from the Subject 8 NPC in the lobby. After a clear, a helicopter has a 4% base chance to appear. Every Merged Monster you kill adds 0.2% to that chance, up to 3% extra, and the helicopter is guaranteed by your 25th clear. The host rides it into the Monster Rift, and clearing the Rift drops Subject 8 every time

Subject 8 is the headline unit of Update 3.5, and it costs you time instead of Gems. It runs on a Control Meter that gains 15 per attack and 1 per kill, up to 100. At 25 stacks it adds an extra hit, at 50 its area grows and it ignores debuffs, and at 75 it gets more range and attacks faster. At 100 it enters its own Unbound state for 20 seconds with 50% more damage. That state is part of its kit, not the trait with the same name.

Colossal Roar triggers when enemies get close, hitting the whole area five times, applying Dismembered, and giving nearby units 10% more Physical damage, which doubles to 20% during Unbound. Its short range of 10 is the big catch, so place it where enemies pass right by it. We keep it in S rather than SS until players finish testing its full upgrade line. Evolving it costs 25 Green, 25 Blue, 25 Pink, and 3 Rainbow Sprites plus 10,000 Gold.

Subject 8 is based on Kafka’s monster form from Kaiju No. 8. If you like that series, our Kaiju No. 8 The Game tier list ranks every character in the official game.

Prodigy (Rage)

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Light, Physical
  • Best trait: Unbound or Primordial
  • Main job: Area damage that scales with status effects

Prodigy rewards teams full of burns, bleeds, and slows. Unyielding Spirit gives him 10% more damage for every status effect stack on a target, up to 100%, and he refreshes damage over time effects when he hits them. Hidden Potential adds a hit on every enemy in range every few attacks, and his Mentor’s Cape equipment makes it happen every third attack.

He needs Yen to unlock his full kit, but once he transforms, he becomes one of the best area damage dealers in Anime Expeditions. He is inspired by Gohan from Dragon Ball Z.

8th Sword (Berserk)

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Neutral, Physical
  • Best trait: Unbound
  • Main job: The highest raw area damage in the game

8th Sword hits harder than almost anything once he gets going. Enemies near him take damage every second just for standing in range, every takedown adds 1% permanent damage up to 100%, and after 25 takedowns he enters Berserk Mode for more damage, range, and attack speed.

The downside is cost and ramp. He is expensive to max and needs kills to scale, so he shines in Infinite and long raids more than in short stages. He is inspired by Kenpachi Zaraki from Bleach.

Shadow (Divine)

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Dark, Magical
  • Best trait: Unbound
  • Main job: Summoner damage and Magical team buff

Shadow covers three roles in one slot. Shadow Realm pushes enemies back and gives every Magical unit 25% more damage for 30 seconds. Its spirit summons stay on the field and keep attacking, while the winged spirit adds stuns.

It pairs really well with Dark Mage (Sovereign), Lightning God, and Forbidden Teacher. Newer Secrets out damage it, but few units give this much value from just two placements. Shadow is inspired by Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen.

Crow (Black Fire)

  • Rarity and type: Secret, Flame, Magical
  • Best trait: Unbound, with Primordial as a backup
  • Main job: Boss damage and shield breaking

Crow is your answer to shielded enemies. Every regular attack puts enemies under Illusion, which stores the damage Crow deals and releases part of it later as a small blast. Its Black Fire burn is the best shield breaking tool in the game.

Draconic sounds like a perfect match for a burn unit, but Crow cannot reapply Black Fire until it expires, so Unbound gives more damage overall. Crow is inspired by Itachi Uchiha from Naruto.

Kitsune

  • Rarity and type: Exclusive, Flame, Magical
  • Best trait: Primordial
  • Main job: Attack speed and damage buffer

Kitsune is the easiest buffer to use. Every regular attack gives it a Skill Point, and it spends those points to make your strongest unit in range attack 25% faster for 20 seconds. If that unit already has the buff, it moves on to the next strongest one.

Its ultimate, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, refills its points and gives every unit in range 35% more damage for 30 seconds. Time it with your boss damage window for the biggest payoff. Kitsune can be placed three times and is inspired by Sparkle from Honkai Star Rail.

Puppet (Telekinetic)

  • Rarity and type: Mythic, Light, Psychic
  • Best trait: Unbound for damage, Optics for support
  • Main job: Damage and boss debuff

Puppet is the most flexible Mythic in the game. Puppet Mark targets the strongest enemy in range and makes it take 20% more damage from everything for 15 seconds. It can also rewind enemies and turn targets into dolls that block the path.

Run Unbound if you want Puppet as a damage dealer, or Optics if you want it as a support, since the extra range lets it mark two enemies. It is inspired by Gowther from The Seven Deadly Sins.

Other S Tier Units at a Glance

UnitWhy It Is S Tier
Vegetable (Prince)Gains damage and critical stats from allies attacking in his range. Huge ceiling in the right team, weaker in short stages.
Water Sage (Founder)Clones and follow up attacks deal steady damage, and it can clear stuns from nearby allies. Earned through Tower progress and rewards.
Head Captain (Char)Its Burn stacks with no limit and gets stronger per stack. Great value for a Mythic.
Dark Mage (Sovereign)Swaps between Ice freezes and Lightning area damage. Set its targeting to None in Lightning mode to keep it there.
Elf Mage (Unleashed)Arcane charges fire extra attacks that grow stronger over long waves, across three placements.

A Tier Anime Expeditions Units

A tier is packed with great units that need the right team, the right map, or a bit more babysitting. If you lack Secrets, your core team will probably come from here.

Alchemy Brothers (Truth)

  • Rarity and type: Mythic, Terra, Magical
  • Best trait: TBA, still being tested
  • Main job: Magical buffer and slow
  • How to get: Earn Metallic Alchemist and Suited Alchemist through the Monster Clash event, charge the Philosopher’s Stone by clearing stages with units of different elements, then evolve the two units together

The second Update 3.5 unit is a support. Its attacks cycle through three steps. Understand puts Alchemy Marks on enemies, Deconstruct gives units in range 5% more Magical damage per mark for 10 seconds (up to 50%), and Reconstruct hits for 120% damage and slows enemies by 70% for six seconds.

Alchemist’s Judgement changes with your team. If most of your units (farm units aside) deal damage over time, those units apply two extra stacks of their effect. If not, Alchemy Brothers can hold more marks instead. Its range is short at 10, so put it at a choke point your carries share. Early numbers look good enough that it could climb to S tier once fully tested.

Sharkfang (Abyssal)

  • Rarity and type: Mythic, Hydro, Physical
  • Best trait: Primordial
  • Main job: Damage plus slows and rewinds

Sharkfang sits at the very top of A tier. Every 12 seconds she sends a Waterfall down the path that slows enemies by 35% and damages them, and it leaves behind a Vapor Cloud that burns anything inside. Her Tidal Wave active sends out two waves that rewind enemies.

She does all of this from three placements at a fair upgrade cost, which makes her a great carry if you do not own Secrets yet. She is inspired by Tier Harribel from Bleach.

Ignition Commander (Betrayal)

  • Rarity and type: Mythic, Flame, Magical
  • Best trait: TBA, still being tested
  • Main job: Stun and rewind control
  • How to get: Standard Banner rotation

Ignition Commander is one of the easier Update 3 units to get since it sits on the Standard Banner. Enemies in its range build up Heat, and the 10th stack applies Burn. Any enemy that walks into its inner zone gets stunned for two seconds and pushed back once.

Every push also triggers a damage burst on enemies in the outer zone. It slots straight into Fire teams, and since its final upgrade numbers are still unconfirmed, it has room to move up.

Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1)

  • Rarity and type: Mythic, Gale, Magical
  • Best trait: Primordial
  • Main job: Slow and stagger support

Salmon Sorcerer is the best pure slow unit in the game. Every attack slows enemies, and with its Technique Amplifier equipment those slows climb all the way to 65%. Enemies that walk into the inner half of its range also get staggered.

It is cheap to upgrade, can be placed three times, and keeps bosses inside your damage zone much longer. It is inspired by Toge Inumaki from Jujutsu Kaisen.

Ramen Guy

  • Rarity and type: Legendary, Farm
  • Best trait: Investor
  • Main job: Farm

Ramen Guy is the best pure economy unit in Anime Expeditions. It boosts the Yen you earn from kills by 50%, so your expensive Secrets get fully upgraded much sooner. Give it the Investor trait for another 25% farm income.

Place it early and do not sell it, because you only get 10% of its cost back. It is worth the slot in long modes like Infinite, but short stages can end before it pays for itself.

Other A Tier Units at a Glance

UnitWhy It Is A Tier
Rainman (Forecast)Rain Clouds deal steady area damage and turn into Frog Storm, which stops enemies for five seconds.
Water Mage (Scholar)Freezes the strongest enemy every 15 seconds and builds ice walls on the path. Cheap to max.
Wild Card (Ace)Adds extra ticks to every Fire damage over time effect. Great in full Fire teams, weak anywhere else.
JesterRolls a random weapon (Scythe, Rifle, or Mace). Strong damage, but less consistent.
Carrot (Unleashed)Critical hit carry that transforms and relocates next to allies for follow up attacks. Needs hands on play.
Sand (Alligator)A growing sandstorm boosts its Poison damage, and its active can stun for five seconds.
CubertAttaches cubes to allies for small damage and range buffs, and the cubes stun. Earned from Tower mode.
The Drink (Juicebox)The core of follow up attack teams. Its mark boosts follow up damage and adds Physical weakness.
Razorjaw (Hunter)Cheap bruiser whose active slashes down the entire path. Very good value.
String Demon (Awakened)High raw damage and cocoon stuns. Best with fast hitting teammates.
Crimson (Brother)Exploding marks and damaging pools clear packed waves fast. A battle pass exclusive.
Lady Giant (Envy)Four placements, cheap upgrades, and a Giant Form that boosts damage and range.
Cursed Student (True Love)Copies the closest ally’s attack. Strong, but it needs the right neighbor.
Eclipse Hunter (Savior)Pairs with one unit and powers it up. Best next to Iron Wolf or Silver Falcon.
Forbidden TeacherBuffs every Magical unit in range. Tiny upgrade cost and four placements.
The HeroDoes the same for Physical units. Pairs well with 8th Sword and Iron Wolf.

B Tier Anime Expeditions Units

B tier units still have a job, mostly early in your account or inside a specific team. Do not pour rare traits into them.

True Saint (Holy)

  • Rarity and type: Exclusive, Light, Magical
  • Best trait: Do not spend rare rerolls here
  • Main job: Starter carry
  • How to get: Free from the Time Chamber

True Saint is the first good unit most players get, and it costs nothing. Regular attacks put True Saint Marks on up to five enemies, and critical hits blow those marks up for bonus damage. It carries early Story stages with no trouble.

The problem shows up later. Its Seize ability steals 20% damage from your three strongest nearby units for 60 seconds, which hurts once you have real carries on the field. Use it early, then bench it. True Saint is inspired by Hinata Sakaguchi from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.

Stone Alchemist

  • Rarity and type: Epic, Farm
  • Best trait: Investor
  • Main job: Budget farm

Stone Alchemist is the budget version of Ramen Guy. It generates Yen every income cycle, costs very little to max, and can be placed three times. Use it until you pull Ramen Guy or build Silver Falcon, then swap it out. It is inspired by Senku Ishigami from Dr. Stone.

Greed

  • Rarity and type: Legendary, Dark, Physical
  • Best trait: Primordial or Forsaken
  • Main job: Budget boss damage

Greed deals 20% more damage to bosses, which makes it the best early boss option alongside Scissor. It is cheap to max and can be placed three times, so it is perfect for new accounts. Replace it once you get a proper Mythic carry. Greed is inspired by Ban from The Seven Deadly Sins.

Other B Tier Units at a Glance

UnitWhy It Is B Tier
Water PrincessShields the nearest unit from one debuff or attack, then recharges after 15 seconds. Useful in specific challenges.
Flame Emperor (Reincarnate)Spreads Burn to nearby enemies. A good partner for Hollow, but its own damage is low today.
Hollow (Blaze)Hits burning enemies harder. Needs Flame Emperor or other Burn units to work.
Reaper (Released)Gets stronger for each different enemy type it hits. Weaker on stages with few enemy types.
Toy MakerOne placement summoner that sends toys to block the path. Much better with Unbound.
Bioinsect (Final Form)Copies part of a nearby unit’s damage and unlocks slows and stuns in later forms, but takes a long time to evolve mid match.
Cursed Immortal (Black Sun)Walks the path and damages everything in its aura. Hard to control.
ScissorDamage grows 5% per hit on the same enemy, up to 20%. A cheap boss option.
Ice QueenDeals 20% more damage to enemies below 20% health. Simple and cheap.

C Tier Anime Expeditions Units

Ice Mage

  • Rarity and type: Epic, Hydro, Magical
  • Main job: Early slow support

Ice Mage is the only C tier unit with a useful passive. It slows enemies for five seconds, which buys your damage dealers a little extra time in early Story stages. Swap it for Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1) as soon as you can.

The rest of this tier, Bounty Hunter, Corps Captain, Demon Cyborg, and Nen Hunter, has no passives at all. They deal plain damage and fall off quickly, so skip upgrades and rerolls on them.

If you play other anime tower defense games on Roblox, our Anime Last Stand tier list and All Star Tower Defense X tier list follow the same approach. You can also grab free rewards with our Anime Vanguards codes, Anime Last Stand codes, Anime Crusaders codes, and Anime Rangers X codes. For anime fighters, check out the Sailor Piece tier list and The Strongest Battlegrounds tier list.

D Tier Anime Expeditions Units

Thunder Shinobi

  • Rarity and type: Rare, Storm, Magical
  • Main job: Starter damage

None of the Rare units have passives, but Thunder Shinobi and Reishi Archer deal slightly better damage early on, which makes them the best of a weak group. Use them to clear the first Story maps and farm Gems, then replace them.

Curly Brow, Kid Assassin, Rubber Boy, and Carrot should be the first units you swap out. The base Carrot is not the same as Carrot (Unleashed), so do not confuse the two when you clean up your roster.

How to Understand This Anime Expeditions Tier List

  • SS tier: The units shaping the strongest teams right now. Build these first if you have them.
  • S tier: Excellent carries and supports that clear everything once they are fully upgraded.
  • A tier: Strong picks, specialists, and the best choices if you do not own many Secrets yet.
  • B tier: Budget and niche units that still have a job early on or in specific teams.
  • C tier: Basic Epic units with little or no passive value.
  • D tier: Rare starters. Replace them first.

We built this Anime Expeditions tier list by cross checking community rankings, unit databases, and the patch notes up to Update 3.5. A few units from Update 3 and 3.5 still have untested upgrade levels, so their spots could move once players finish testing them. Traits and equipment can also push a unit up or down a full tier, which we cover in the traits section further down.

How to Get the Newest Anime Expeditions Units?

Most of the recent meta units do not come from a regular banner, so knowing the grind saves a lot of wasted Gems.

Best Anime Expeditions Units by Role

The Anime Expeditions tier list tells you who is strong, but a good team is about covering jobs, not stacking six damage dealers. Here are the best units in Anime Expeditions for each role, plus an easier pick if you are still building your roster.

Best Anime Expeditions Team Comps for Update 3.5

These lineups use six units each. Swap in whatever you own from the same tier and role if you are missing a piece.

TeamUnitsWhy It Works
Fire Burn TeamCrimson Captain (Moon), Devil (Hero), Fallen Angel (Holy), Head Captain (Char), Wild Card (Ace), Silver FalconScorched makes every burn hit harder, Wild Card stretches the burns, and Fallen Angel’s Time Stop spreads them. Put Draconic on your burn units.
Boss and Wave TeamSovereign (Djinn), Lightning God (Overcharged), 5th God Hand, Kitsune, Puppet (Telekinetic), Silver FalconLightning God and 5th God Hand handle the waves while Sovereign handles the boss. Save Puppet Mark and Kitsune’s ultimate for the boss fight.
Physical Bleed TeamIron Wolf (Struggler), Subject 8 (Monster), 8th Sword (Berserk), Eclipse Hunter (Savior), The Hero, Silver FalconPair Eclipse Hunter with Iron Wolf, then let Subject 8’s roar and The Hero stack Physical damage buffs. Built for Infinite.
No Secret Budget TeamHead Captain (Char), Sharkfang (Abyssal), Water Mage (Scholar), Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1), The Hero, Ramen GuyOnly Mythics and Legendaries. Burns, slows, freezes, and a farm unit carry you through Story and early raids.

For Monster Clash specifically, put your strongest units in the middle of the map. The two enemy paths cross there, and monsters that meet at the crossing merge into much tougher enemies.

A great trait can move a unit up a full tier on any Anime Expeditions tier list, so knowing what to chase matters. You reroll traits with Trait Crystals at the Traits building in the lobby, and the four rarest traits come with a pity counter that guarantees them after enough rolls.

TraitRoll ChancePityWhat It DoesBest For
Unbound0.1%1,500 rolls+350% damage, 5% faster attacks, +10% range, one placement onlyA main carry that only needs one copy
Primordial0.2%750 rolls+35% damage, 15% faster attacks, +20% rangeUnits you place two or three times, and supports
Forsaken0.3%500 rolls+35% critical damage, +35% critical chance, +10% rangeCritical hit units like Carrot and Reaper
Draconic0.5%300 rolls+20% damage, +50% damage over time, 10% cheaperBurn and Bleed units
Investor2%None+25% farm incomeRamen Guy and Stone Alchemist
Optics3%None+25% rangeSupports like Puppet and Fallen Angel

Two quick tips. Reroll a unit’s stats before you evolve it, since good rolls carry over to the evolved form. And do not put Unbound on a unit you want to place three times, because it locks the unit to one placement. Toy Maker is the classic example of a unit that jumps a whole tier with Unbound, since it only uses one placement anyway.

Best Anime Expeditions Units for Beginners and F2P Players

You do not need to spend Robux to build a strong team. Follow this order and you will clear Story mode without stress.

  1. Start with True Saint (Holy) – It is free from the Time Chamber and carries the early game.
  2. Add cheap Legendary damage – Greed and Scissor are easy boss options, and The Hero or Forbidden Teacher buffs them.
  3. Fix your economy – Use Stone Alchemist early, then switch to Ramen Guy with Investor once you have it.
  4. Slow things down – Use Ice Mage until you get Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1).
  5. Chase free endgame units – Fallen Angel (Holy) comes from a quest, Subject 8 from Monster Clash, Water Sage from Tower progress, and Iron Wolf from the Snowy Castle Raid. None of them need summons.
  6. Save Trait Crystals for one carry – Never waste rare rerolls on C or D tier units.

Anime Expeditions Tier List FAQs

What is the best unit in Anime Expeditions right now?

Sovereign (Djinn) is the best overall pick thanks to its boss damage, wave clearing chains, and freezes. If you run a Fire team, Crimson Captain (Moon) is just as strong.

What is the best Mythic unit in Anime Expeditions?

Fallen Angel (Holy) and Devil (Hero) are the best Mythics after Update 3. Puppet (Telekinetic) is still the most flexible older Mythic because it works as both a damage dealer and a support.

What is the best support unit in Anime Expeditions?

Silver Falcon is the best support since it buffs your whole team and boosts your Yen. Kitsune is the best attack speed buffer, while Fallen Angel (Holy) and Salmon Sorcerer (Grade 1) lead crowd control.

What is the best farm unit in Anime Expeditions?

Ramen Guy is the best farm unit because it raises Yen from kills by 50%. Give it the Investor trait. Stone Alchemist is the budget option, and Silver Falcon adds extra Yen on top of its buffs.

Is Subject 8 worth farming in Anime Expeditions?

Yes. Subject 8 (Monster) is a free Secret that deals area damage and buffs your Physical units. It is a limited event unit, so farm Monster Clash while Update 3.5 is live.

What is the best trait in Anime Expeditions?

Unbound is the best trait for a single main carry thanks to its 350% damage boost. Primordial is better for units you place more than once, and Draconic is the pick for Burn and Bleed units.

Can traits change a unit’s tier in Anime Expeditions?

Yes. A rare trait can push a unit up a full tier, especially one placement units like Toy Maker that get the most out of Unbound. Still, top tier units outperform lower tier ones with the same trait because their kits are simply stronger.

How often does the Anime Expeditions tier list change?

Rankings shift with almost every major update. Update 2.5, Update 3, and Update 3.5 each pushed new units to the top within weeks of each other, so it is worth checking back after every patch before you spend rare Trait Crystals or Gems.

Which anime are Anime Expeditions units based on?

Units use different names but are inspired by popular anime. Sovereign (Djinn) is Sinbad from Magi, Prodigy (Rage) is Gohan from Dragon Ball Z, 8th Sword (Berserk) is Kenpachi from Bleach, Silver Falcon is Griffith from Berserk, and Subject 8 is Kafka from Kaiju No. 8.
