Onimusha: Way of the Sword Story and Setting

Onimusha: Way of the Sword takes place in early Edo-period Kyoto, where the historic city has been transformed by clouds of supernatural Malice. The corruption allows monstrous creatures known as Genma to enter the human world, turning Kyoto into a dangerous battlefield. You play as Miyamoto Musashi, a young samurai who arrives in Kyoto determined to prove his skill with the sword. His journey takes an unexpected turn when he gains the power of the Oni through the mysterious Oni Gauntlet. As Musashi battles the Genma, he begins searching for the reason behind his fight and the path he is meant to follow.
